Updated: For sale custom P-60 Drop-ins XML, XPG, XRE and others available.

If you had a nice new sleek L2P?

What drop in you you drop into her?

It really depends what you want to do with it and what tint you are partial to.

Right now I am liking the 5 mode program JonnyC gave me driving an XML at 3.15 amps modes are .002, .09, .65, 1.5, 3.15. That will give you well over 800 lumens and with a 1-2 lumen low there really isn't anything this drop in doesn't do well.

I have a new shipment of 1A tint U2s that are amazingly bright if you like a cool tint and some T5 3Ds if you like a neutral tint.

I also have some XPGs in 3D tint and 1A tint I have been driving these to 2amps with no ill effects and with the 5 mode you get a safe 1 amp mid high producing almost 400 lumen and a 500 plus lumen turbo mode.

I can bump the max up to 3.5 amps on the XML for a blazing 900 lumen turbo mode for short bursts but that gives you a safe 1.75 amp mid high that is well over 600 lumens that will run all day without damage to the battery or emitter.

This is just a fun hobby for me I don't make any money at it so it's really about what you want your light to do and I try to make it happen for you.

I took a couple weeks off for the holidays and I plan on putting some drop ins together next week so send me a PM if you want to talk more.

E1320,

Any ideas how high you can safely drive an XP-G? I see you're driving them to 2A. Is there much gain over the stated max of 1.5A? Where is that break even point where you just generate more heat with little gain in lumens? I'm not really interested in a P60 format, and my project should be better heatsinked than a P60. I've been awaiting Match's test of the XP-G.

When oldbobk wanted a couple P-60 XPG drop ins at 1.7amps I was honestly afraid to sell them at 1.7 amps because I hadn't run them that hard for any length of time. I have been running one safely at 2 amps for about 6 months now with no ill effects. This is a P-60 4B tint R4 on a small 12mm board so it will easily be visible if the dreaded pre meltdown purple color change occurs. I am very confident an R5 on a 14mm board properly mounted will handle 2 amps easily. An R5 XPG at 1amp gives about 348-370 lumen and 1.5 amps gives 463-493 lumen that's about 100 lumen gain so I don't think going above 2 amps is going to give a visible gain. I think the sweet spot is 2 amps unless someone proves me wrong. I haven't run one to meltdown yet so I am not positive, but I can say the gain from 1.5 to 2.0 is minimal but definitely visible.

It's bee a while so I figured I would update this thread. I started shipping drop ins with a new revision a reversed spring soldered on the bottom so they now fit Solarforce and other extra long P-60 hosts with no modification required. Also all 1A tint XMLs are U2s now and I have 4C tint R5 XPGs that are visibly brighter than the old 4B or 3D tint R4s.

New Spring design on all 105C drivers

New Neutral tint XPG

XPG R5 4C XPG R4 4B XPG R4 3D

I want this setup :
Neutral XML T5 in 4B tint,
1.7Amp driver would be perfect,
Smooth reflector,
3 mode high-med-lo with memory, regulated.
Do you think you can make it for me? How does it cost? I’m using Solarforce L2P host powered by 1x18650 battery.
Thanks.

The 4Bs are sold out and no longer available also I can't ship overseas at the moment, sorry.

I have some 3Cs that are very close to the 4Bs, maybe you have a shipping idea that might work.

Send me a PM if you want to talk more.

Just want to update this thread. All the 4B XML are sold out and no longer available I have 3C tint XMLs to replace them and some 7C XML if anyone wants a high CRI drop in.

Also the 3D tint R4 XPGs are sold out replaced with a 4C tint R5 XPG that is much brighter.

I will be doing a run the high CRI Nichia emitters from Craig at Illumination supply if anyone is interested feel free to order the emitter yourself on a 10mm board and mail them to me or send me a PM about which ones you want.

I have some Green Emitters coming for another run of weapon lights. I will update shortly they should be here any day.

I got 7C tint XMLs available they are quite orange looking like the sun setting in your window, it makes my 4Bs look CW.

Welcome to the site, Ryley.

As there is certain interest in these drop-ins from international customers: would international shipping be possible with usps first class international as a small and light package (https://www.usps.com/ship/first-class-international.htm)? Shipping costs would be <5$ if i read correctly.

I use USPS exclusively and the price on there website is incorrect. I go to the local post office (United States Postal Service) on a daily basis and to ship a drop in using USPS to Germany is over $30 dollars. I am willing to try other shipping methods, but I have yet to find one with a reasonable shipping cost, sorry.

Welcome to BLF, Lagerregal.

I have fun here and am sure you will too.

Do you still have the high cri xm-ls? Also are you willing to do custom programming?

I have some more on the way, send me a PM about the programming.

I'm looking for an XML U2 for my first sf L2 lego light. I like the five mode you mentioned earlier. Not sure if I should go with 2.8 or up to 3.5 yet.

Also I noticed you were in NH. I help run a hacker space in nashua www.makeitlabs.com

We have soldering equipment and lathes and all kinds of fun stuff that would be applicable to this hobby. Also I'd just be interested in meeting up and talking lights.

Thanks

Christian

Sorry to bother but are you sure that the First Class shipping method cost that much? I live in Brazil and USPS First Class is always cheap. The dropin can be sent in a little envelope, so the shipping should be $10 tops. On the other hand, USPS Priority Mail method is expensive. Maybe your local post office made a little mess with the methods.

I really wanted at least one dropin

Christian send me a PM and we talk more about a custom drop in for you. I would love to check your shop out.

As far as shipping goes, I go to the post office in town on a daily basis. I use first class USPS for shipping and the prices on there website and the price the workers give me vary wildly. I am 4 hours from the Canadian border and it's almost $30 dollars to ship a drop in to Montreal and I can drive there in 6 hours. I am sorry about not being able to ship outside the country, but I don't have another shipping option that is a reasonable driving distance to investigate.

Welcome to the club, cstcyr.
