Help me choose something to go on my Keyring

Good Evening

I have been browsing these forums trying to decide which light to upgrade to from my Maglite Solitaire that lives on my keyring.

I know pretty much anything will be a upgrade in terms of output but I need reliability and a good battery life.

The Thrunite Ti is now on top but before i take the plunge has anyone got any other suggestions? the ones I have researched are:-

Fenix E01

Olight i1, i2 and i3

Thrunite Ti

Tank007 E09

So any other suggestion?

CQG S1 from china quality goods is a sleek SS keychain light. comes with NW tint. Only 1 mode, but IMO that's fine for a small keychain light. There's also the S2 for AA.

An ITP A3

I prefer the standard edition with one mode .

There are a lot of choices. Do you want AAA (Short, narrow) or AA (shortish, narrow) or CR123 (short, fat) sized?

DQG tiny II is master of the keychain, but unluckily it seems sold out atm.

Here is another review with some nice comparisons.

Mararatac AAA, ITP A3, Olight I3, Brinyte PD03A, CGQ S1, Quark preon 1/2 ... depending on the flavour you like: clicky/twisty, single-mode/multi-mode, strobes/no-strobes, price range ?

+ iTP A3 EOS Upgraded (i.e. with 3 modes and the mode sequence: Lo-Med-Hi)

+ Brinyte/Brynite AAA light

+ Lumintop Worm Alu (has 2 modes and is bright, superwhite tint, and throws fast)

+ if money doesnt hurt, then Klarus MiX6

i guess that in this thread all my AAA lights are already mentioned. mission accomplished. haha

Or there is a new AAA contender, the Bronte RA01 in either silver or black. It looks very interesting.

BTW the Silver one must be stainless steel as Bronte don't make a silver alu.

Here is a hint ;-)

shilling!!

;)

I have an Olight I2 on one keyring and a blackcat on the other. The blackcat is smaller and throws better, the olighit has three modes and lights up a room better. The Olight has never required any maintenance, but I have had to disassemble/clean/retighten the blackcat several times.

Oh, and the Blackcat is red and matches my 2004 Mustang, while the Olight is black....

Fenix E05. it's my keychain light. i've extolled the virtues of this light many times. it's simple, sturdy, and the brightness and runtime are just about right IMO for a keychain light. the best thing on it is the really tight threads. a lot of the lights in this segment, the iTP A3/Olight i3 and Lumintop Worm included, have sloppy threads and the heads have to be twisted a half turn to lock out. the E05's threads are so tight that even a tiny fraction of a twist will turn the light off and lock it out. this makes one handed operation really smooth and easy - something that comes in very handy when i'm carrying stuff in my off hand. it also has excellent knurling which also helps with easy one handed operation. it's an awesome light.

I have never had anything besides a "button" light on my keychain, until the Tank e09. I have a 10440 battery in it and it puts out a readlly bright little beam. It also has three modes and I have already been glad for a low mode on my keychain light.

I have dropped it twice to the ground and escaped with only a nick in the finish. No function issues.

I love it, so there is my 2 cents.

wondering how many BLF boardies have already ordered this new item. The thread view counter has almost reached 30,000 views wtf!??

Maybe someone has an auto-refresh script set on this page?

Also bei DX kann man nur in Dollar bezahlen. Schillinge nehmen die nicht. Selbst Österreich hat doch den Schilling inzwischen abgeschafft. (noch ;-) )

I thought I had made my mind up and here you all come with lots more suggestions!

Thanks though there are plenty to look at, as for size probably AAA as this is the size I am currently using.

What is this one?

I am going to go have a good read of the reviews of the lights you have posted

Thanks

This is the very new Bronte RA01 in stainless steel from the even newer and unknown brand BRONTE, so there are no experiences out there with them. Better get a well known and thoroughly tested light unless you feel especially adventurous or want to be the first to write a review about it. They are probably not bad, because SBflashlight also added them to their arsenal. I would like to get my hands on their 2AAA penlight with clicky and 3 modes one day.

I think I will let one of you guys make the first move on that one :-)

wondering who might that have been ;)

Österreich? Ich dachte wir sind alles ein gemeinsames germanisches reich?

The Bronte is in stainless steel .. nobody has it. It's heavy (see its weight in grams), so finger weg!
