Currently S70 is on a win side: great price, better finnish, better oxidation and it has a carrying strap: something crusial for a light that big
Plus, a spare glass ( other spares too) and a illuminated button, also crusial for a side button based light
The one thing that Thorfire should improove is their customer support- simply there is none.
SImon on the other hand is quite helpful.
The clear L6 looks awful, but thats a matter of personal taste
Agree, for new app users 50% of a Convoy L6 this is could be a hard situation for Simon.
But he has loyal fans and gives great support so I am sure he worries little to none
IDK, been using the app for too long of a time
probably, make AE account -> install app -> login app -> add S70S from this store in cat -> check coupons or when you tap “buy now” check if price is reduced.
Thats the last think L2/L6 should be proud of
After a month in your hands it wont be that lovely, and it will fell of the edges, speaking of personal exp ofc… but yes, at first it looks great
Since i orders hosts alot there was a time last year ( a month or 2) the oxidation was better and a bit different, i dunno why Simon didnt continue using it, my personal C8s and L2 are with that kind and they hold
LOL, that’s fine by me, I just thought I’m a moron and wasn’t doing something right.
To be honest, the last thing in the world I need is another flashlight, but for some strange reason, I can’t stop myself from buying them when it’s a bargain! lol
I’ve always liked the Thorfire better than the Convoy. Thought I was in the extreme minority on that till now. Between the lighted on/off button and the anti-roll down the hill out of view feature on the body, I’m even more TF camp. This only adds to that: “The new S70s no longer turns on with the tail switch. It’s more of a lockout now. You turn it on as well as change modes with the side switch.”
One new development we’ve learned since this thread fizzled out was that the S70s driver has very high parasitic drain. I think it can drain the batteries in a couple months or so. I can’t remember the details. So make sure to physically cut the power if it’s not used often.
