Rating: GearBest.com [AVOID]

Seems like Gearbest has taken over my Firefox. Almost every site I visit now, that never had a sidebar ad for gearbest, or any other ad, now sports some product from Gearbest I had once looked at or purchased at one time. They’re not pop ups, but integrated into the page/sidebar. I thought amazon was bad, but they are amateurs compared to GB.

Also been waiting on 2 orders from gearbest for what seems like an eternity. Probably will do a paypal dispute this week if they don’t arrive. Tracking says the packages have been in the USA for 3 weeks or more.

Beginning to think this slow boat from China shipping to save a few $ is not worth it. A order from MNT takes just a few days to arrive and thinking its probably worth the few extra $ to stay in the USA instead of months of waiting for shipments that never arrive, or arrive extremely late.

If you’re in Alaska during the months of dark days of winter, hoping to order a flashlight from GB to help with the constant darkness, don’t bother. It probably won’t get to you in time…

With each purchase, GearBest has a review area. One, reviewing for their service as the seller, Two, reviewing the product purchased.

When I receive my shipment, I leave my comments based on their part (shipping, handling, etc) of the purchase.

After having the light(s) in my possession a fair amount of time, I'll leave my review of the product.

With each order, points are received that can be used on a future purchase, for a little discount. The more you order in succession, the more points you gain. Alright.

Now, for each purchase I place, I get points. For each review I post, I get points. If my review has pictures or video, I get points. All these points I've acquired from all my purchases, add up to a nice little discount, if you save them a while. Building up the points gives me the incentive to add more. If I build up enough, I can get a product for free. Or so it seems.

In my reality, I have $30 worth of points that I have built up. I've been eyeing a particular flashlight, and my goal is to use my points, to get the light for free. It doesn't happen that way, because GB regulates the amount of points that can be used, to 30% of product cost, total. Why?

I'm pretty sure I know the answer.

What do you think about this?

My multiple experiences with GearBest over the past 13 months have all been stellar for the most part…… I have no complaints.

In fact, I had a DOA Convoy L6 the very first order I placed with them. I contacted them and the problem was resolved immediately.

I asked them to send another light but they said it was out of stock so they said they would rather issue a refund. I said OK and they did so immediately.

When the light was back in stock I reordered. :+1:

That is my experience with GearBest……. all excellent spanning 35 to 40 orders with them over the last 13 months.

I’m sure it’s because they don’t want to loose too much money. Let’s say they sell an item for $90 that costs them $80 and you have $90 in points:

If they sell the item for cash, they make a $10 profit.
If they gave you the item in exchange for points, they suffer a $80 loss on that particular sale.
If they sell you three of the item for your points plus $180, then they only loose $60 on that particular sale.

I think it’s a great system. Surely they still want you to spend some money, which I think is fair. I believe these GB points cannot be combined with discount codes. The best way to get maximum discount is to use them on flash sale products. An example; the Skilhunt H15 on flash sale was $25, which already is a great price. You can further reduce this price with about a third with GB points to make it about $17. Really nice I say.

Nope. Just got 2 spam mails from them on a row…

Until now, Just 1 missing item. Item is shipped, sent back to China after arriving in NL, sent grom China back to NL again, since then no updates on tracking anymore, wednesday 2 months have past, Will update my ticket then

I have a hunch that whenever I place an order i get re-subscribed

I only have ordered once from GearBest (sorry, I’m a terrible flashaholic), so that is not my case. However, you may be right as well, dunno…

Seems likely.

Overly Attached GearBest

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your feedback and sorry bring you trouble, we have informed our related staff to fix this

people who get GearBest emails still after you unsubscribe, please contact our CSgearbest to help you unsubscribe again

They don;t follow their own rules. On this page:
https://support.gearbest.com/en/knowledge/500
It clearly says that “Please note that orders “shipped out” cannot be cancelled.” My order is paid but not yet shipped (maybe packed, I need to check), I opened a ticket and they said they cannot cancel my order…

Hi, Dear, do not worry. Please give me your order number, I will check and stop the order for you.

I can’t seem to receive a refund for the item that did not arrive.

There is an option for insurance during checkout, which is a small fee. Whether Gearbest should refund you, or send you a new item depends on this.

The problem is, the item that I didn’t receive is a replacement item, for which I had to pay separately.
I was asked to pay for a new item using invoice that was emailed to me. And so there was no way to apply insurance.

I see. Gearbest rep here is very friendly and helpful. It’s weekend, so you might have to wait until Monday, although rep often works on Saturday as well. I’d wait until Monday and if you don’t get a reply pm Gearbest here.

Ordered on presale and paid 46.99 USD by PP for an item(flashlight of course) since 19 September.
They didn’t sent yet.
I ask why and they offer to change the item or wait another 15 days.
I sent the list with 3 items total valued 45.99USD but they do not want to send because this prices items have coupons.
As I understand their’s presale policy is to take our money and delay how much they can the shipping hoping to change with full price items.
I sent private message to GB BLF and no response.
They response only to public messages, that’s show how much they respect as.
I feel cheated and disappointed by GB.

I’m also experiencing a significant delay in shipping from Gearbest. I put in an order for a few items (all listed as “in stock”) 10 days ago and it has been sitting in “Packed” status for over a week. I paid extra for faster shipping too. I put in a ticket and they responded with some confusing information about the original order having an incorrect phone number (number of digits). I used the same exact info (stored in my account) as I have on all of my previous orders that have shipped promptly for in stock items. I double checked verified that the phone number on the original order was correct. I’m not sure what is going on over there… maybe they are changing their shipping logistics system.

Anybody else experiencing unusual shipping delays for in stock items? (from the time of order until the order actually shipped - not including delivery times that are outside of their control)
