Well, the devourer actually devours a lot of darkness.
The buffalo looks a bit like a buffalo with the big front sectionā¦
This trekker could be good for trekking (hiking etc.) i suppose.
Personally I figured the reason to call the MT07 Buffalo, is to relate the product to a strong wild animal, just like Ford Mustang.
But, you made me realise I made a mistake. What I meant to say is that if you name a light Devourer (which makes sense), then why name the other light Buffalo, or vice versa?
Each name can be explained like you did, but there is no coherence between the three names. It makes more sense (I think) to stick with one theme. This holds true as well for the code of the products where there is coherence: MT01, MT03, MT07.
Certainly no complaint, but it makes me scratch my head.
Yeah, the Buffalo is the only animal and the only name referring to the design / shape of the light.
āDevourerā is a bit of a questionable name i.m.o.
It is the best looking one of the 3 models though.
I got one recently, the 2nd generation with cool white XHP70.
Itās just stupid bright. :sunglasses:
I have one of each tint (MT03)ā¦both are perfect, new switchā¦very solid and nice lookingā¦no imperfections. I havenātā taken it apart or anything to look for scratches on the board, or improper thermal paste applicationā¦etc.
Yeah, itās very nicely put together.
As we speak iām tearing it down though.
Iāll open a topic on it because i want to mod it here and there.
The obvious spring bypasses of course, but i think it would be good to put in beefy coils in stead of the rather tiny ones it has now.
Then i can raise the current a little, hopefully getting it to do 12000 Lumen or more.
Eventually i want to put XHP70.2 (3A tint) in it, and iām thinking about different optics too, maybe TIR optics.
But weāll see about that laterā¦
