Battery ?

Hi Venom………

  • Yep, they have them in the Electronics Department at the WalMart’s I go to.
  • Barkuti already answered the USB questions above this post.
  • No, you don’t have to give a SS # to open a PayPal account. I have had mine many years and can’t remember exactly what you do to open one. But I do remember it was real simple. You keep a credit card on file & a bank account to I think. And that is pretty much it if you are going to be Paying with the account.
There may be some other steps if you are going to be Receiving money…. I’m not sure. But the whole process is fairly simple and straight forward.

PayPal is just a payment intermediary, The Big Brother of Payments. When you pay with them, they just transfer the corresponding sale balance from your account to the seller's one, after substracting their fees. Of course, they watch over and have a hold on all of their customers' data. Their policies are, as far as I understand, picky and Conservative, and if you try to do something even remotely fishy, they may decide to withdraw your funds and suspend your account for as long as their investigation may need to. Forget about using PayPal for buying Bitcoins, research chemicals, etc.

Their currency conversion fees are outrageous (≈5%) and mandatory (in the past, you could select your card to be billed on the transaction's currency). @#$%!

I found a usb adapter/charger 25v 2a. Is it overkill? Can it harm anything?

I have no earthly ideal??
Put a link to it up.

I made a little typo it’s 25w 2A. It’s the Samsung 33-0699-05-xp charger @ Best Buy. I don’t know how to do link.

That Samsung 33-0699-05-xp… sorry but, $35 for a piece of junk with not so clear specifications? Do you explicitly need a Samsung charger?

No offense but, do you like to throw away your money? My bank account is in dire need for such stuff at this moment.

[Qualcomm Certified] BlitzWolf® BW-S5 QC3.0 18W USB Charger US Adapter with Power3S Tech @ Banggood - On sale right now.

BlitzWolf stuff has been reviewed consistently good by HKJ.

Cheers ^:)

Another option:
az

I was just looking around at different charger and with the Samsung it said 25w and I didn't know what it meant. I was so used to seeing volt. I was looking around at different website and I can get that same charger without cable under $10. What I do like about that charger is the surge protection (not sure what it's called). Thanks for all the replies so far, much appreciated!

@ teacher In post 78 the link you posted I follow it and in that post you mention a usb tester. What is a usb tester and how does it work?

Here ya’ go.
https://www.imrbatteries.com/xtar-usb-voltage-current-meter/

Here is another one: http://a.co/gLgrv7E

Seems like it has a more advanced display. Does anyone have any experience with this one? It’s possibly sold on other sites under a different name…

How much money is earned with those @#$% redirected links each time someone “punchs in”? Where are the fair-minded reviews/quotes behind these products, Pete7874? Not pretending to be rude, of course.

^:)

This is a direct link provided by Amazon when you click the “share” icon on their website.

No idea. But I found HKJ reviewed this one. Seemed to be on par with other similar testers.

Hmmm, I am kinda mixed up about Barkuti is trying to say?? :open_mouth:
But could you put a link up to HKJ’s review of that one Pete…. I”d like to read about it. I”m on my phone right now & a search is difficult…… for me anyway.

Thank you…

Nothing pesky, teacher. Since those links Pete7874 was sharing were of distorted redirectional class (LoL! ), something I had seen before (affiliated/tracked links), I just asked just to know a bit more about that stuff.

I've been procrastinating my financial situation for just too much already.

^:)

P.S.: I can virtually do all of the stuff possible with a desktop computer from my Android phone. Unfortunately, untapping the full potential of these handheld full blown computers requires quite a bit of customization (rooting, etc).

@ Barkuti …………… OH, [“affiliated/tracked links”]; OK brother Barkuti…. I understand now. :+1:

I was a bit lost & confused for a while there…….

I do not have the skill or inclination to learn to do those things on laptop or phone at this point………. :person_facepalming: …
But it nice to know it can be done if I ever decide to try. :student:

Take care my friend………

OK ‘grasshopper’ (Venom)… sorry for the short reply this morning… I was in a rush.

They will basically tell you the output voltage & current to the device you are charging.

Below are pictures of three different ones, there are tons of different models so don’t drive yourself crazy looking for one.
.

.
.
THIS will tell you a bit more about the Xtar in word & pictures of it in use.
.

.
Here is a link to a review HKJ did on the Xtar shown above….

I have a couple of them and they work very well. In the link I posted above this morning earlier they have them for $5. It is in the USA also.

Then here is a link to HKJ’s site also …. Review/test of USB equipment for charging.
http://www.lygte-info.dk/info/indexUSB%20UK.html
He tests many different models and brands and this link is his Master List with links to each he has tested.

Hope this helps………

@ teacher These seems to be handy for diagnosis if you having problems with cell charging or other devices other devices that uses usb charger. Is there a way to check voltage/amp at the end of the usb charger cable to see how much it lost its voltage/amp?

Which usb tester gets teacher seal of approval?
