Sure, it makes sense for that, but most e-switch lights aren’t really meant for LE/military/self-defense. Things like the Klarus XT series with a dedicated strobe button are great designs for that, but it seems to me that a lot of manufacturers don’t have a clue who they’re designing for.
The more of your posts I read the more you remind me of another member of an ad&d group I was with in the 80s. Intended as a compliment - it brings back fond memories.
And there it is: the Astrolux S42. Choice of XP-G2, XP-G3 or 219C 5000K. Both tube lengths included. Initial price of $30. The firmware looks to be a translation of A6 to e-switch, which is less than optimal, but not the worst thing they could have done.
Would be cool if I could get in touch with the people who made this, to have a chat about source code and how the GPL works. I don’t know if it’s actually based on any GPL’d code, but it’d be nice to have the sources anyway.
