NITEYE EYE30 3*XM-L U2 $315

Nice light, but for $315 a light would have to put out 8,000 lumens for me to even consider spending that much.

Lol that is one expensive light.. just think about all the budgetlights you can buy for that price

Like 5 complete DRY's

6 shadow TC6's

2 fenix tk41's

4 trustfire TR-j12's

and so on...

Same here. They certainly jumped right into the deep end with this light, eh ?

I like the Sunwayman-style battery holder - it appears to work in either direction.

Looks very nice, but it is much too expensive for me.

That’s absolutely ridiculous. Who designed this thing? That price is at least double what it should be, and with that kind of moronic way of controlling brightness, I wouldn’t even pay that. It looks damn cool though.

All the Jetbeam and Nitecore stuff is way overpriced. Ill leave it to CPF to drool over those kind of lights...

Well yes, having an emitter running lower gives better emitter efficiency, but drivers having a large range in output is more difficult to achieve efficiently. In other words, if you have a high setting, achieving a low low is more difficult because of problems such as - reduced efficiency, tint shifting, or reduced pwm percentage increasing pwm visibility, and general problems with stability of drivers running at lower outputs.

I think of this as making use of the multiple emitters in a different and probably equally as good a way.

Also note, that it might start with a single emitter, but the next time you turn it on, it starts on a different emitter, helping to "wear level" the use of emitters too.

Its also not running the emitters on max, they already turn on at a lowish level, and only hit max output after all 3 are on, thereby still taking advantage of the increase efficiency of lower emitter outputs.

I APPROVE!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the listed functions - HOBBY COLLECTING

YEAHH! thats straight to the point! its what we actually do

Bro, I hear you and you have some valid points. So there are pros and there are cons.

But then multi emitters lows is not that difficult, I have the TK70 and Xtar S1 and both lows are ok. 20 lumens stuff.... And RRT-3 XM-L even does down to 5 lumens.

Another point I just realised is the wierd look of just 1 out of 3 emitters lighting up....it does not look "balanced".

It's a 300 bucks light. If they need to do individual emitter picking, then I guess they have to do it. Coz the competition with better brand recognition is doing that, succeeded and is selling in different price brackets. (RRT-3 for 260 plus it gives you 3 quality cells)

Heck don't even talk about brand recognition. This is a DRY at about 0.001 lumens. LOL! Yes it is even lower than the Sunwayman V10A which you an expert in. Smile

asd

So ugly & bulky!

Yup. My sentiments exactly. That thing sure is UGG-ly. Even if it cost half that amount I wouldn't buy one

Yeah, even though its single emitter, i still wouldn't buy one because its

  1. Way too expensive
  2. Doesn't go anywhere near low enough
  3. strobe at the wrong end of the ring control - on the off side!
  4. its pretty ugly too

Reasons to get one

  1. has more output than any of my current torches

Overall, I personally won't be getting one, hehe but its great to see new stuff coming out and talk about.

Still loving my V60C, has output but all that output is put to use down the line instead of short range, which has more relevance to me atm.

thats a tritium watch? Soo pretty!

personally, i like this eye30.. i know this is a NON BUDGET flashlight. at the end of the day, what you pay is what you get.

Yep Tritium.

Lol and thats like a minute exposure!

Mine is on order incl 4 x 3100 mAh EagleTac 18 650 for 279€ ! Stainless Steel Version

Yep. LOL! 58 seconds ISO 400, f8.

Ok, bothered to look up more details.
