Ok , A quick review of the 5 mode drop in from DD [ XM-L ]
I popped it into my L2P [ wrapped in Al foil ]
With a freshly charged Sanyo 2600 , I recorded up to 3.5A current draw on high ...
High / 3.5A - Medium / 1.44A - Low / 0.184A
Output with Tailcap = High - 620L , Medium - 275L , Low - 33L
Now that just made no sense ... Less tailcap , I used the MM so measured current and output at the same time ...
High / 3.44A / 770L and fading fast , Medium / 1.44A / 320L , Low / 0.184A / 42L
... Hmmmm ...
Poor efficiency from the driver , seems to be a fair bit of heat related sag .
Still for the price , might be worthwhile doing a driver swap , definitely on the cards for this drop in ...
Wow , I think I may need to stop buying , even cheap , P60 XM-L drop ins from DD ...
From just a visual inspection :
Looks well put together
Emitter slightly of centre [ does not affect beam ]
Typical XM-L beam and colour [ Yellow centre , white corona , then a yellow hallo and purple edging ]
Nice clean reflector [ Smooth - Not OP ]
Noticeably slow PWM
Mode memory = 15+ second wait or it starts in the next mode ... [ I made a point to remember this , and when it came time to doing the post = I forgot ! ]
