Just saw this on eBay and thought I'd pass it along. I'm not exactly expecting miracles, but at $6.49 it's still a good deal in my book, even if the light turns out to be complete crap (after all, a single unprotected 18650 by itself already costs $4 or so).
Excludes: Alaska/Hawaii, US Protectorates, APO/FPO, Africa, Asia, Central America and Caribbean, Europe, Middle East, North America, Oceania, Southeast Asia, South America" in the description, which leaves us with... I'm guessing the North Pole, the Internatonal Space Station and Principality of Sealand. In any case, when I log into my eBay account it says "free shipping" (continental US) so I guess I'm going to take my chances and order one. :)
I got one but I'd be hesitant to use the charger on it. Charging venting battery in enclosed metal tube with crappiest charger possible is probably a bad idea.
1. Has a generic Luxeon K2 like emitter. 2 wires in 2 out with very small die size. Very easy to replace 20mm board, but lacking in heat sinking to pill. Output not too bad, not quite cree level but much better than low end cheapies. Very blue tint, like 10K.
2. 3 mode Hi-Low-Strobe driver. I suspect direct drive. Current draw was 0.52A/0.1A on somewhat used lithium, probably bit higher on fresh charge. Always goes to next mode unless you wait forever, in which case it goes back to high.
3. Includes a "Shark" protected battery. Already has a piece of the plastic wrapping missing.
4. Includes car and wall charger. Not sure I trust charging the light with the tiny unknown circuit inside.
5. Doubly so since compass doesn't work (huge bubble inside and points in random direction), so can't find the hospital if the charging blows up.
6. Small emitter + smooth reflector (plastic) means small hotspot, no rings. The beam is actually quite nice.
7. Build quality is decent enough. Everything fits and is screwed down. Finish is not great, it's painted on and not the cleanest from the factory.
8. Side clicky kind of unique, but I ended up clicking the compass out of habit.
This wouldn't be a bad light if they got rid of the broken compass and made it tailstand. Clean it up before it leaves the factory and put more phosphor in the emitter to get it down to <6000K.
Certainly a lot of value for $6, which was price mistake (should be +$9 shipping), but the blue emitter and the little deficiencies kind of ruins it.
When I was on the police force we carried something quite similar.Maybe not as nice of a shield sticker thing as this one has ..That's pretty nice ..Those were the good old days .and then i graduated from the 5th grade and went on to middle school ..everything changed overnight
Now you don't need to carry a badge ..Just point to the front of your flashlight ...Just the facts madamn..
looks like a great tactical light..
