I’d rather get the rubber boot. It feels better to the touch and you can pick a GITD one like I have on my S2. And while I’m not totally sure, I think it’s better for waterproofing.
I also prefer the rubber boot, love the look of the clear S2+ but the black switch doesn’t suit in my opinion. If it is the only option I will still buy one though and swap to a silver switch with another of my S2+
Where did you find the GITD rubber boot? I have all the colours of boot from Convoy’s store but none of them seem to glow in the dark.
From Convoy Store the Green and light blue ones are GITD. I have light blue which is interesting because it glows green But you can source a lot of color and size from kaidomain.com
Boy oh boy. :person_facepalming:
Where to begin… I guess there was a mix-up.
They shouldn’t have gone to BG yet but since they did it looks like Simon is listing them too.
As far as I know the “official version” with the Biscotti driver and stainless switch is still in the works. I’ll post more details when I get them from Simon.
Not your bad at all. You probably did read that and it may have even been me who said it. That was the original plan. Several attempts at getting the coating right went wrong. It proved to be a real pain. I thought these clear ones weren’t going to be sold with the black switch because the black coating wasn’t tough enough. These may be just fine though. I believe the black steel switch is PVD coated but I don’t think it’s stainless. The coating is being improved though because we’re using the black metal switch on the Desert Tam S2+. I won’t know exactly what these are until I get clarification from Simon. Stay tuned…
I’m not in the loop, but last I heard (quite a while ago), Simon was trying to figure out why biscotti didn’t work right with a lighted tailcap. So I passed along some information about how the tail works, the offtime measurement, and the need for a bleeder resistor, and … hopefully it helped.
But until there’s confirmation one way or another, be aware that there’s a chance it could have an old 3/5-mode driver. And it may or may not have a lighted tail, which is honestly kind of pointless with the black steel switch blocking 99% of the light. So, there may be good reasons to wait for clarification from Simon.
