Upcoming Astrolux S42 18350/18650 quad w side button and usb charging

On the BangGood page is a link:

I would say that it may be a crap-shoot as to whether any 18650 body already in your possession fits, there were some incompatibilities early on. I would hope that they have nailed things down and are making things fully lego-able by now.

I’d think they’d do that to lower costs. Identical threads means identical setup and inspection for that portion of the light, which should result in greater profit.

Just pre-ordered one w/219C's. Looks pretty good. Can't wait to get my hands on the survival hammer - I don't have one and need it.

Wut?

If you know where to get one, let us know.

It says right here on BG the S42 comes with one, so it's included

hope it looks like this

Has anyone found a review? The only I found was Banggoods blog

I wonder how the UI works? From the illustration it looks like you have to click through all the modes before the light turns off. I hope this is not the case.

Good find!

Nice to see a copper head too… but i’m not fond of the ‘colored’ SS.

Copper head with aluminum body is the version I prefer; will it be offered?

I would also be glad to see a plain aluminum S41 head…

Ive gone for one

what would be a good choice of 18350 cell for this, xtar 18350 850mah unprotected, BASEN 18350 800mAh 12A. Trustfire TF 18350 Li-Ion 1200mAh Button Top 3.7v Unprotected, EFEST 18350 Batteries 3.7V Li-ion 800mAh IMR, my guess unprotected would be best.

+1
Black ano aluminum with the copper section please (bundle with a 18650 tube :sunglasses:

Unprotected high drain would be best.

For the S41 i bought Enercig 18350 700mAh. Good performer.

I’m trying to get some Aspire 18350 1300mAh - tested at 1050 and probably capable of 7A.

I’m heating my hoodie pockets with S41 and S41S using these

hold up to level7 very well “Ouch”

Will button tops fit too?

Yes, just watch out for protected cells (they are typically too long to fit and also gives less output).

would these be a good choice

Those Efest 18350 will do.

Note they are somewhat ‘old’ - four/five years. There has not been much evolution in the 18350 format but more recent cells may have a bit more capacity (those test at 700 mAh). Make sure you buy new ones because LiIon cells do age even without use - or so is my understanding.
