The target now is to make this light awesome , and correct all the possible flaws it has , as a test unit . So Narsil , even though is awesome it canāt be implemented .
Light has 21 āultra-low / lowā brightness levels to choose from :
From off , click 4 times to get in programming mode . Now , depending in which level you are , a single click gets you to the next brightness level (itās in cycle , so once you reach the highest , youāre back in the lowest). Longer click saves the level youāre in .
It has some cool sub lumen modes , that even xhp70s canāt light properly all the dies ā¦
Iām trying to guess why the dies do not light up the sameā¦
Small deviations from the specs out of production that make a big difference at very low voltage?
They are all in parallel and they are probably getting a few mA each . Then i think every xhp70 in 12V configuration has 4 dies connected in series (i think). Only if all the 12 dies had same Vf would light equally , theoretically
What batteries will it take? Hopefully not another of these lights thatās fussy on length making it a problem getting hold of compatible batteriesā¦
If it is fussy that should be rectified before production.
