Precision Hex Bit Set? WIHA? Multi Security Bit Set? Standard & Metric

These are smaller tools. How much are you going to abuse them? Generally speaking the screws in electronics are easier to get out unless they are glued in. I kind of have cheap tools i can abuse and betters tools for other jobs that i keep mint. So i keep extra screw drivers in case i need to use one to pry or hammer some thing. I have a cheaper socket set i can hammer if need be. These are all for bigger jobs.

Of course you’re right, just saying I’ve had times when I had to put some torque on a screw to get it loose and with those cheap ones I had the “bit” came loose in the handle.

I bought two sets of these for $5/set to tide me over until I want to spring for the good stuff.

These sets are what they are. Cheap, low quality. Holes are not centered.

I do not recommend. YMMV

I bought these mainly to mess around with my folders. The holes are well centered as far as my naked eyes can see. Overall so far so good.

Not sure how much hep this will be but, I have to have these types of bits at work, much of our machinery is manufactured in Germany and they love to use security hex screws.

I have a couple of sets and both from the same place. Both were very reasonably prices. Here are links for both. I hope this helps.

The price on this one is hard to beat. It seems cheap but they hold up, at least so far. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/barn-star-33-piece-3-in-security-bits-with-adapter

An R/C friend, also an Electronics Repair Tech, said he has a couple different sets by NANCH.

So I ordered this set

I second that. All I use is Whia and Wera, very good steel on these tools. There’s a good reason why they are more expensive…… they last.

As little as I paid for those 2 sets I really thought they would be in the trash by now. I was wrong... Both sets are holding up very well and gets used quite often.

Just go with a Wera set. I promise that you won’t be disappointed.

That is a really nice set, I may order one of those myself. The sets I have do have a few more hex bits and even a few I had not seen before but that one looks like it has the 2 that I use the most. Well really the only 2 I use lol...

I would love to know where he got those, I have 20 guys at work that would place orders tomorrow lol....

Nice job....

What set are you referring to, Terry?

The set I bought?

My R/C hobby has a good array of micro tools I use for 4-40 and smaller fasteners

The red cased sets, I bought those for the security bits. Not the precision bits

Both lol, the security bits I need at my job. I have precision bits and drivers all around this house and my tool boxes at work. I need a really good one that is small enough to keep here in my guitar tool box (it will be used most for that) and quality enough to last.

Check into these. They look like the old fashion key cases. The guy gave them much praise considering the abuse.

I have a few micro hex ratchet handles. Turn the rachet over, put the bit in to go the other direction.

I can go check the brand of the rachets if you want to know.

Mine is in the middle. That's the angled. There is also angled opposite, and straight as well. #47478

for allen key type tools, I have had a Bondhaus set for like 25 years. Mine is the ball-end type. These things have endured literally 1000s of usesges over the decades. I was an avid RC car club racer too and these were ALWAYS in my pit box on race weekends. One set has endured ~15 different kit builds, with dozens of tear-downs and re-builds for each. Few of those were nitro kits where you really have to crank down on things to prevent them from falling apart from temperature / vibration extremes and 2 stroke engine oil splatter.

I have all the Bondus Allen sets. Both SAE and Metric. They are a must have in the Nitro R/C hobby.

I haven't touched any of my R/C stuff in years, but I can smell that nitro in my senses!!

When you have the time I would very much like to know... Send it to me in a PM... LOL the wife is watching me and asking "Are you about to buy tools" LOL

PM sent ;)

Not my tools!!

The NANCH - Precision 23pc Screwdriver Bit Set arrived today.

For it being made in China, I'm actually impressed with the quality! The bits are (near as I can measure with a metric rule) 4mm hex drive.

I've never seen such a well rounded set. Especially bits this tiny! The T6 Torx is tiny. Then it goes down three sizes further to 0.8mm.

I recommend them if you need a nice set for a decent price

Here are some pictures. They are not the greatest.

I like these:

enderman: those are all short bits if 'd buy set it would need longer bits. RC/ what’s the lengt of the bits of your set? It looks like something you can work with.
