Paracord lanyards with lobster claw or carabiner? Where to buy?

I know you are not after the carabiner or clip alone, but if so, I can recommend these:

I know, these are great for key-chains. Very good build quality, but double-sided - so one more connection to loose things. (and they are a little large for my taste)

I ended up with buying just the paracord alone at www.thebushcraftstore.co.uk, where you can mix different kind of paracord at starting lengths of 1 foot (7 pennies - that's a price I like). For up to 10 feet I only paid 1.50 £ postage. I went with 3+3+4=10... cool store... waiting for the postman. Now I need a source for lobster claws or gate clips, best with free shipping.

Try this $1.30 and you get 24.

Thanks for the link, but that doesn't look like paracord.... it's not that I search any kind of lanyard... but specifically paracord lanyards (more durable, better customizable) like the one in the KD link above... also they have to be longer 30-40 cm - 1 foot with clips that can be opened. I asked Daniel of LT if he is able to get any of them for a reasonable price. The 4Sevens lanyard for 6 $ are just too expensive for my taste. The one on the MrLite flashlights also seem to be paracord or paracord-like.

Pictures lent from www.lightake.com and www.kaidomain.com.... I hope they don't mind...

That's funny, last few days I also searched the web looking for paracord lanyards or the components to make my own. Lighthound have a nice choice of lanyard stuff, but the shipping cost to Europe is a little bit to high. I ordered 100' of 550 paracord from GearUpEurope:

If there was a place that sold reasonably priced lanyards, like the ones Vectrex posted above, I would buy 2 or 3 dozen of them. My favorite lanyard so far is the one that came with my Icon Rogue 1.

Yeah... paracord is great .... once go para - you never go back to those common, easily breakable, flashlight-loosing stuff we are all used to. If bought too much of it, you can always fix your personal Hubble space telescope with it.

If you need small amounts (starting at 1 foot length) of paracord www.thebushcraftstore.co.uk is great. I paid 2.59 € for 10 feet with 3 different colours and shipping to Germany included (see post #13 ). But I still need a good, cheap source for gate clips and cord locks. The US Americans have easy access to paracord accessories , us Europeans are left behind.

Update with some random Ebay links:

Cord Locks

Cord Ends , 1 , 2 , 3

Gate Clips , 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6

Swivels

Thanks for all the links Vectrex!

No problem, but isn't lighthound easier for you... since Hawaii is on US territory?

It is easier but your links give me different ideas on lanyard parts and pieces to look for. Plus it lets me know what certain parts are actually called instead of me asking/looking for those 'black plastic clipy thingamajigs.' :D

Yes, I had the same problem and for me it must be twice as hard, because English isn't my 1st language. Another problem is that people apparently have different names for those thingis... cord ends, zipper pulls, zip loops, clasps, cord locks, hooks, clips, lobster claws... if you find a good item, just look if the vendor has a store with similar items... might be easier than to scan the whole Ebay search result. ITW Nexus seems to be the company with the high quality plastic parts. Let us know, what you are building with those parts...

What I'd really love to do is learn how to make my own home-made lanyards like desperandos, Essexman, and Stormdrane make over at the other place but I don't have the time. Plus when I have a few extra bucks to buy lanyard stuff, I end up spending the money on another flashlight or 2 or 3.

I have an old paraglider at home. These cords would still do for a lanyard, even if they are probably no more good for to fly with it. Maybe you should check if there are some odd pieces of paracords laying around in any of the parasail stores near your place. I think they use kevlar cords as well.

That's a good idea. I think we have a couple parasail/paraglider stores on the other side of the island. I'll check them out when I get a chance. Thanks.

Paracord from GearUpEurope arrived. Great stuff! Although I still haven't any cord lock (I even thought about making one from aluminum on the lathe :) ), this simple one is also very useful. Now I'm waiting for olive drab and sand colors (5' each) from The BushCraft Store :)

Looking good.

I have ordered 12 of these swivel clips for 5 bucks including shipping and I'm thinking about ordering these or these cord locks from Ebay.

I like the 2nd type better, but I don't need so many...

P.S. : Could you adjust your pictures with that "100 %"-trick (point 4) ? It is better for those people who have no 1234353453456" screen ;-)

P.P.S.: Let me show you my collection of different lenghts of lanyards ;-)

Vectrex, just tried 100% trick. Tell me how it looks now?

Looking even better, thanks.

More fun with Paracord. Tan paracord lanyard is made of the paracord from The Bushcraft Store.
