CRX Brass Four

Another wee brass build, this is built around a filed down Thrunite Ti brass pill and Efest 10440 with the usual hand tools - a hacksaw, files & sandpaper
This light has an XP-L HI v2 1A emitter on a 10mm sinkpad viewed through a TIR optic with cyan GITD detail.
Forward tail clicky and being the ti driver can be powered from the main four cell chemistries we use.

Li-Ion Efest 10440 - Max – 420lm
Eneloop NiMH AAA - Max – 70lm
Energizer Lithium - Max – 90lm
Length - 80mm
Width - 12mm
Weight - 31 grams (with cell)

How it’s made

Once again, amazing work!

you make everyone else look bad ……

:+1: :+1: :+1:

Where do you get pipes that fit snugly in eachother?

It is K&S tubing, comes in brass, steel, aluminium and copper although I have only been able to obtain the brass & alu stuff here.
I think it goes up to around 16mm Metric and Imperial.
Each progressive size fits inside the next, great for these little projects.
Other larger tubing I use is search, mix & match.

’tis most sweet
When in one line two crafts directly meet.

I can no other answer make, but, thanks, and thanks.

Another way cool build CRX! I like the totally encapsulated GITD LED and the brass looks great.

Very nice. Does CRX wear glasses two inches thick to magnify miniaturisation up to a normal size? :stuck_out_tongue:

It would make a nice giveaway light  oft good turns. Are shuffled off with such uncurrent pay

Nice build, again. Love the polished look, tho the faded/tarnished look as it gets used is also cool.

Wow.

Brilliant again mate.

Will look even better when it’s as sweaty and tarnished as my beloved copper MK2 from your GAW which still hasn’t left my side!!!

Keep it up mate. Fantastic.

Paul

Hey friend! You’ve inspired me again. I’m am about to finish an S41s inspired and all polished up. I messed up the optic and have been waiting for a replacement before I put it up for sale. Well I’ll be waiting a little longer even as I just placed an order for some gitd powder. It’ll be my first experience with the stuff.

Thanks for all your comments

That’s nice to know :+1:

.

Cool, what will you mix it with? I would recommend a low viscosity clear silicone like this from FT as opposed to an epoxy on MCPCB’s.
When using the powders a larger grain size of strontium aluminate is better and don’t put so much on that it touches the optic.

You might also want to order some GITD sticky back plastic tape/ sheet, these are really good.

The tape is what I used in these builds
Cut a thin strip and stick to the inside of the head leaving clearance for the optic

Ah, ok. I was going to mix it wth some uv curable glue. The stuff from fastech. Will clear silicone work better?

Beautiful !

Very nice, as always something that makes my mouth water and my hands itch to touch

Aw man, you would have had fun with that!
The mix will need to be quite thick and so the particles block the UV light, it won’t set all the way through - leads to a messy disaster

Yeah silicone is best where it will be in contact with a lot of heat I think, unless someone has a better idea.

Do some experimentation before doing your lights

Beauty in brass. You got skills
