Thrunite TN 42 ,a new record in Throw

I’m with you. I much prefer neutral tints. I am working on a Neutral tint TN42 mod for release soon. It will out throw all the TN42 mods to date. Including the CW versions. And this without the lumen penalty going to a smaller die. So best of all worlds.

Cool! Were will you release this or unleash this?

Like Saturday at the Drag Races huh Scott?

OMG Lumens…. and omg throw, combined. That is what I am interested in. You have my attention. I just saw your post about this item in the other forum. Please keep us posted.

Hahaa great analogy, cutting lights, 60fter’s, but let see what it’s got on the Big end!

On my website. onestopthrowshop.com The site is admittedly very barren ATM. For about 7 months now I have been in an intense research phase. No time to make lights. Been working on fundamental technologies to enable a new generation of lights. Something special. It has gotten harder and harder to stay ahead of the game. I really have no desire to push high volumes of product. There are some things that can only be done with time, patience, and a deft hand.

Before my flashlight era(BFE) I started a company to make mod and racing parts for Saabs. Saabs were my chief love at the time. My wife started to get spooked about liability however so I pulled out. I have always had a deep love of engineering and I am glad to have an outlet for this in flashlights. As I have said before I will do it until I get bored. Ten years in now and hasn’t happened yet though.

Nice to see you Michael! :+1:

I am Capolini’s twin,wolfdog!

I know one thing The OSTS TN31mb that you sold me had the highest lux of any!! It was the last one you sold after the run was done………470Kcd. I bet you could get that up to 600Kcd + with the improvements over the last 3.5 years.

I admit,I have used that same bragging line about 4 or 5 times now!!!

Yeah I made the connection with you “two”. Recognized your dog.
That light could get up to about 650. There are some serious limitations with that platform and available LEDs that would prevent me from going higher. Same thing I have been struggling with trying to create an upgrade path for the DEFT-X and Victor line.

1 mill lux or more ?
vinh has a tn42 thats over 900k lux now, surely your not going to let him whoop up on you! :stuck_out_tongue:

900k with a XHP35 or with a different LED?

This is what intrigues me the most, seen/read of some of your work with LED’s! :+1:

XPG2 S4 Dedome i think

Well, as you can see from that link some random guy did a lot better than vinh… :stuck_out_tongue:

yeah, guy named alex got one from vinh, and tested the exact same reading that the random guy got, on his meter
who knows, maybe vinhs meter test lower, alexs meter higher, random guys higher, diff batteries , etc, etc….
only way to know would be compare head to head same batteries, same room, meter, same tripod position, etccccc…
i get a kick on how some of you guys on here love to bash vinh, and i think ive got it figured out
hes took his passion, the same one alot of you guys have, turned it into a business, and is probably making a 6 figure income doing it for a living, and it eats you guys up …
haters gonna hate……its a normal human thing for most…. :stuck_out_tongue:

XP-G2? Why? Can’t a de-domed XHP35HD at 2.8amps and countless hours of focusing do up to 900kcd?

Just asking….

How was that bashing vinh…?
Are you just making assumptions or are you oversensitive or what?

He even said so himself that all he cares about is lumens, not lux.

Oh Vinhs a super guy, very personable and talented. That’s what got me into it, Vinh, Richard, Randy Brogden (PFlexPro) I do it for FUN. Vinhs attention to detail and his mods are store bought most times better than factory clean, more power to anybody that can make some coin doing what he loves for a living!!! :+1:

Oh no you didn’t. Hmm…well I’m going to give it my best and we will just see where the chips fall.

I’m a little confused by the numbers he is quoting for that XPG2 light. Given what he quotes for the XHP35 lights it would seem either poor integration or he is holding back. I can of course get higher throw numbers by going to a smaller die but I really think people want a no sacrifice light and that is what I am aiming to deliver. By my calculations 1mill is reachable with the XHP35. I’m not quite there yet but close. Looking for massive thermal improvements. The one major thing I’m trying to solve is the weak bond wires.

:+1:

1.2 mil , out of a xp35, at 2600 lumens would be sweet
id like mine delivered first of next week if possible ! :stuck_out_tongue:
