I did however find the origin of your original fan wolfdog, shown below
I got curious as to the ADDA label on it. The green label says āMade in Chinaā, but it appears ADDA has a USA Headquarters in Orange, California
ADDA Fans ā¦ If you click on this link you will see your āoriginalā 5V fan (#AD0205MX-K50(TX) ā¦) listed. Just under it is the 12V model. The dimensions of these are 25 x 25 x 6 mmā¦ it seems as if I remember the āoriginalā being 25 x 25 x 9 mm Who knows?
AD2506 Series ā¦ Just another charts that shows dimensions & specs.
And as far as this fan below goes ā¦.
ā¦ā¦I found the company web site ( qfydz ) , but have not been able to find the fan listed. Imagine thatā¦. :person_facepalming:
GearBest replacement fan I ordered
.
My goal in this was to try and find one that did not have to be modified to fit. A drop in replacement so to speak with the same or better specs than original.
It appears the ADDA has the same cfm as the Delta but it is only 6 mm thick.
And I could find no data at all on the āqfydzāā¦ā¦
EDIT: I just emailed āqfydzā and asked for the specs of the mystery fan. Time will tell if they answer.
My delta fans specs. from speaker_joeās Ebay add.
Specification
Nominal voltage : 12 V
Current : 0.12 A
Operating voltage range : 4 - 12 V
Fan speed : 13,000 RPM
Performance : 2.4 CFM
Noise : 28 dBa
Size : 25 x 25 x 10 mm without heatsink
I wonder If the ADDA 25mm x 25mm x 09mm has the same specs as the one you posted 25mm x 25mm x 06mm? My guess would be yes.
Nominal Voltage: 5V
Current:0.65A
Fan speed:12,000 RPM
Performance:2.4 CFM[Ability to move air]
Noise: 29 dBa [decibels]
Size: 25mm x 25mm x 06mm 25mm x 25mm x 06mm???
The Deltaās numbers and the ADDAās numbers seem comparable.
All I can tell you was the amount of air dispersed by the Delta fan was very noticeably superior and higher than the ADDA fan.
I would venture to guess close to or twice as much. Another guess, maybe the fan blade is superior on the Delta?
Dale got my fans today. I canāt wait to put that fan back in there! In the future if I need anymore, we have speaker_joe right here in the States. :+1:
I too think your email looks fine Robert. It seems you covered everything well.
I somewhat do agree with Speed4goal. To leave the 3100 as is and to fix the power supply supply & cooling problem should add little to no increase in price as far as I am concerned. And it needs to be BETTER than just the bare minimum to get by.
Now if they want to up the discharge to 1.5A or even better to 2.0A that would work for me & Iād pay a bit more gladly. BUT, if they do this they need to have the power supply and cooling figured out from the start.
IMO it needs to be better than just ābarely enough to get byā ā¦ It needs to be overkill or close to it, so as to handle any situation without a problem: both power supply & cooling.
None of us are buying these things to have to figure out what is wrong with them and then patch them up. It is a huge waste of āourā time & money.
That is my .02, which in the big scheme of things is worth nothing. But there it is anyway.
PSā¦ even though mine has not done this āyetā on the heat shut down. MAYBE it is just because I have not been testing any high IR batteries. I donāt know??? Just a thought.
we have an improved version power supply. The label is marked with extra printing to tell the difference between old one and new one:
NEW ONE!
We have no:17[17 means 2017] used. While the old power adapter donāt have this year code info.
year code info.
Concerning fan, this can be a problem.
We can source really good fan, but the price is $5.0 more comparing to the current fan we are using. If you are willing to pay extra $5.0 for this, we can purchase this fan to be used if you are going to order.
We are testing the new power adapter and to make sure we are not having this problem.
Also we are working on a new design, that will get rid of this high current pulse completely. The new design is being revieved technically and once we have sorted out all the problem, we will make a new design.

Hi Henry,
There is NO difference whatsoever with your new power supply except the Number 17 written in the bottom right corner! ALL the specs are exactly the same!
I already used my own money to buy the fan and the power supply. I was making these suggestions for future customers and possible purchases.
This is a picture of my FAILED POWER SUPPLY! Looks just like your supposed improved one, minus the #17 in bottom right corner. ārdanaā will not be happy either.
Well, is a power supply honestly meeting those specs going to be adequate?
Could be they got cheated on the first batch of power supplies and they werenāt up to spec.
Someone like Gauss could comment on the spec (probably already has somewhere above)
Chuckle.
Arenāt you glad weāre not buying anything life-critical from China?
Hey, did you know China has been building a new, economical fission power plant design?
So safe they donāt waste money putting a containment building around it ā¦.
@wolfdog ā¦ā¦ Well, you gave it your best shot with the email. It appears oleā H. Xu thinks we all fell off the turnip truck yesterday.
Oh well, you tried. :+1:
Maybe LiitoKala will beef up the Lii 500 just a bit with a 1A discharge & maybe add a fan. Call it a Lii 550-Plus.
Then we can just boycott OPUS & never buy another one. Which, come to think about it; after all this BS: there is no danger of me ever buying another one anyway.
Now, moving on. You wrote the below & posted it at the exact same time I posted THIS . Yet you have made no comment/opinion/input of my post referencing your email to Henry Xu. What are you waiting on? .
Darn, I should have known better than to even askā¦. :person_facepalming: Try to pay you a compliment about your original emai to H Xu & you canāt handle it.
Actually, after telling you your email looked just fine & that you seemed to have covered everything wellā¦ā¦ Most of what āIā said was agreeing with or expounding upon what Speed4goal had said.
With the exception of course being the part about having to spend money to fix it.
You know what fellasāthis charger isnāt worth all this āitās just a charger is allāit has limits/flaws like everything else we purchaseāwe all know how this stuff is manufactured ā CHEAPā- somethings can be fixedāsome canāt
So ā¦ so ā¦ instead of improving the power supply, theyāre trying to eliminate the current draw pulse that overwhelms the power supply.
Maybe.
And in the meanwhile, theyāve told the power supply builder to quit using chewing gum in place of good capacitors, or something?
(since itās the identical model, identical spec, but the label changed āplus 17 on the cornerā)
I can see a meme possible here for reviewers:
āWe found this to be a mediocre product, the manufacturer should put 17 on the corner to improve it ā¦. ā
You have a point there,However, I am going to continue to exchange emails with him and get answers until āMY PEOPLEā get the kickbacks necessary to reimburse ALL of us 100 fold! :+1: :sunglasses: :smiling_imp:
The power supply has its internal design changed completely. we have minimum over current protection from previous 6A to 7A, and its output power capability is also higher.
we are making more testing to confirm this.
What kind of power you are expecting us to use? can you make any suggestion? you mean with 12v 5A rate power supply?
regards
henry

Hi Henry,
Why didnāt you provide that information[specs] in the first email? If your promoting a new design it would be nice to provide pertinent information instead of being vague!
In regards to the power supply.
-The one provided for my charger[KYT120300BV] was inadequate and failed as described in my initial email.
- The one I bought myself is very high quality[LITE-ON 12V/5.5A/66W]
-Your NEW design is yet to be used and proven sufficient.
To further answer your question: Whether it is 3a/4a/5a ect. It NEEDS to the job. That is your companies responsibility.
I hope it works well for the people who buy the charger. For me and a few others it is irrelevant because we have already used our own money for replacements.
None of us are buying these things to have to figure out what is wrong with them and then patch them up.
So what are the specs of this new fan that will be an additional $5 and who is the manufacturer?
I hope your not mad at me for borrowing the quote. āNone of us are buying these things to have to figure out what is wrong with them and then patch them upā.
It was a perfect quote to use in my rebuttal!
I have been writing poems and quotes for a long time. I enjoy philosophical, meaningful, simple and direct communication, especially when it is written.
I will share this with you. I wrote this yesterday morning before the suicide bomber in Manchester UK struck.
To me it is eerie, to others it may be a coincidence.
āIf people could be more like Dogs the world would be a better place. There would be much LESS conflict and violence, instead there would be true harmony and grace.ā
Well said wolfdog!!! :+1: I agree also, that was the āperfect quote to use in your rebuttal!ā
I also have a suspicion that hank is in no way āmadā that you used it. He is a team player as most all of us are. :+1: Personally, I am estatic you found the quote, taken from post #678; so useful in your rebuttal. It definitely had a ring of honesty & truth to it!!! :+1:
Oh yeah, Iām not mad that you used it eitherā¦ā¦ I am, as previously stated; most pleased you found it useful.
