Difference between Opus BT-C3400 & BT-C3100 v2.1?

This should have been revealed in the FIRST email!

to me
Hi, Robert.

The power supply has its internal design changed completely. we have minimum over current protection from previous 6A to 7A, and its output power capability is also higher.

we are making more testing to confirm this.

What kind of power you are expecting us to use? can you make any suggestion? you mean with 12v 5A rate power supply?

regards

henry

Hi Henry,

Why didn’t you provide that information[specs] in the first email? If your promoting a new design it would be nice to provide pertinent information instead of being vague!

In regards to the power supply.

-The one provided for my charger[KYT120300BV] was inadequate and failed as described in my initial email.

- The one I bought myself is very high quality[LITE-ON 12V/5.5A/66W]

-Your NEW design is yet to be used and proven sufficient.

To further answer your question: Whether it is 3a/4a/5a ect. It NEEDS to the job. That is your companies responsibility.

I hope it works well for the people who buy the charger. For me and a few others it is irrelevant because we have already used our own money for replacements.

None of us are buying these things to have to figure out what is wrong with them and then patch them up.

So what are the specs of this new fan that will be an additional $5 and who is the manufacturer?

Cheers,Robert [Wolfdog1226]

Good response to his belated email. :+1:

Why in the world he would not say that in his first response to you is beyond me. :person_facepalming:

Keep it up…

Hank,

I hope your not mad at me for borrowing the quote. “None of us are buying these things to have to figure out what is wrong with them and then patch them up”.

It was a perfect quote to use in my rebuttal!

I have been writing poems and quotes for a long time. I enjoy philosophical, meaningful, simple and direct communication, especially when it is written.

I will share this with you. I wrote this yesterday morning before the suicide bomber in Manchester UK struck.

To me it is eerie, to others it may be a coincidence.

“If people could be more like Dogs the world would be a better place. There would be much LESS conflict and violence, instead there would be true harmony and grace.”

Well said wolfdog!!! :+1: I agree also, that was the “perfect quote to use in your rebuttal!”

I also have a suspicion that hank is in no way “mad” that you used it. He is a team player as most all of us are. :+1: Personally, I am estatic you found the quote, taken from post #678; so useful in your rebuttal. It definitely had a ring of honesty & truth to it!!! :+1:

Oh yeah, I’m not mad that you used it either…… I am, as previously stated; most pleased you found it useful.
.

I think it is time to pass the torch. Why don’t you take over now?

Then again, there is really nothing left for him to tell us! Whoever buys the new Opus package can report its successes or failures.

I have done a lot of thinking the last hour. It is time for me to focus on finding a job instead of spending valuable time trying to get answers for something[Opus Charger] that at this point is irrelevant to me. There is no need for me to get frustrated anymore.

> “None of us ….”

I quoted that bit from Teacher’s earlier post above. I should’ve cited it to:

Also: “What Gauss said!” about keeping the conversation working well. Good advice there.

Hmmmmmn, well said gauss. :+1: Kinda nailed me right between the eyes, :person_facepalming:
I have been somewhat critical of Mr Xu. And basically, he has forgotten more than I know. :open_mouth:

Mr. Xu, should by some miracle you read this; my apologies for any criticism I aimed in your direction. You have been responsive to Mr. Robert’s emails and that at least says you are listening. Thank you!!! :+1: … And thank you for providing the information you have thus far.
~
@ gauss….
I do understand what you are saying about the labels gauss, but IMO… Considering all that has gone on about the power supply, it would have been nice had the information been received in the first response to Robert (wolfdog). Though I do realized, due to the things you mentioned such as language barrier, etc., etc.; That is something that certainly cannot be expected. For example, if I had to correspond with him and answer questions in Chinese…… we would all be in a world of hurt.

Awww, come on Robert, don’t throw in the towel completely; just choose your battles.
You have found out a ton of information and in finding the “good information” you have dispelled about 2 tons of what turned out to be “wrong info”.
Yeah, I understand about the time involved. I have put a lot of hours reading, researching, and mostly trying to keep up with this. BUT…. I have only a small fraction of the hours in it that you do. You have spearheaded this.

So yeah, do what you have to do about finding work. ; but don’t give up on this. You, and to a much lesser degree “we” almost have this whipped. And now it is basically just the principle of the thing to see it through.

And besides finding out all this info, you have somewhat brought us together as “Family”. :+1:

I mean look, ; you and gauss are actually talking & communicating without actually biting each others heads off most of the time. That in itself is a tremendous accomplishment!!! :+1:

We have rallied around a cause here on BLF…. “The Friendly Forum” and by durn we have almost become friendly.

  • You have “almost learned” when and where to use !!! marks. Almost being the ‘key’ word there, but you are doing so much better……
  • Even though you have become “frustrated” at times with the situation & others and possibly said a couple of things in haste…… you have always so far bounced back with renewed vigor & pressed on.
  • You still have a bit to go to know when I am “pulling your chain”… … but you’ll get there.

All this is said in a somewhat comical manner, BUT I am serious about it all Robert.
Do what you have to do, relax & don’t get frustrated over this. ; but see it through as your time allows.

No problem at all hank. As it was, it gave Robert a the perfect chance to give me a compliment on something I wrote.

Yes & amen to that. :+1:

This whole thread has been something else to watch unfold.

But at least it seems like they play to release a 2.3 version. As long as it discharges down to 2.8 to keep it fairly accurate and it all works I’d get another. And one day in the future plan to even if its the one now. For the most part mine worked 85% of the time as intended. And for $30 investment has given me my moneys worth in a charger. Even though mine charges a little low its the only charger I have that charges to the exact voltage on all 4 slots. Someone mentioned a fix but I’m not comfortable soldering on the board. As $30 for another charger isn’t in the budget right now. Its close enough for me.

In the end it seems like something good will come out of it. It seems like they listened and will make a new revision eventually and phase this one out. Like the 2.0, and 2.1 versions.

^

I guess time will tell what they do Speed4goal. I agree with you pretty much. Keep the discharge to 2.8V, address the power supply issue fully, do whatever they can with the heat issue, and it would be nice if cell all came off the charger at right at 4.2V.
We will see……………

I decided to cut the raised vent slats out of the bottom of my 3100—The way the vent slats are made I was only able to cut out every other one(this way left more to support the remaining ones—I feel this is a big improvement in air circulation— The air coming out the fan is 2-3 times more evident(hope that word makes sense) I’m discharge/charge testing right now—if some one wants a pic let me know
Today I also tore apart a broke laptop for the blower/fan— thought it would be perfect for the underside of the case—worked spectacular on a 4.2 cell— it jumped once with 12v Dead now—it was 5V but on many post it was stated 5V will run on 12V just diminishes the life—I didn’t think it would be so quick—LOL

teacher—That girl Wolf sure has a sweet voice—LOL——- who’s the artist

Hmmm, sounds like a good idea chops…… :+1:

Yes sir, I’d like to see pics please. Good ones too…. :smiley:I’ll probably just do mine like you did yours.

Sounds like you have a good idea with the other fan too……. sorry it was so short lived……

I honestly do not know.
I searched and all I can find is what it said below the video when seen on YouTube …… “the voice of Celtic woman”.

It sure is a sweet & relaxing voice though. :+1: …

la cacion the voice de celtic woman con hermosas imagenes de lobos = the cation the voice of celtic woman with beautiful images of wolves

Here’s my 3100 Back with every other slat removed—I used a cut off wheel with a dremel —- air circulation with positive end of the charger raised is 2-3 times better

Heck yeah!! I bet that is a game changer…… :+1:

Did you take the back off to cut it??

Thank you for sharing this……

As you can see “Everything” has gone as “Smooth As Silk” and according to plan. Nothing but honest communication and mutual respect.

to me
Hi, Robert.

Yes, I can send you new charger for your review.

Do you need BT-C3100 or our newly planed next generation charger?

we are thinking to make a design change. Our current BT-C3100 is a CV charger with simulated CC design. This design has high power adapter quality requirement.

We are making a new design so that we adopt CC charger and it will have less stress on power supply.

This new design is under R&D stage, but it will take us several months time to complete.

regards

henry

:+1:

See if you can find out if the “new” charger is going to still terminate discharge at 2.8V Robert. Thanks in advance……

Wolfdog———————-Good luck with that—I hope Opus is better than Haiklite about replacing things and a review item
I have been waiting for 2 new drivers and battery plates for my Sub Par lights from them—when I keep asking they say coming by such and such date/how about we send you a new release to review—been going on since Febuary

Yes it is—just a statement from a frustrated consumer
