KD (kaidomain): Deals and new products thread

I suppose it is just the opposite. Making flashlight bodies and pills from tubes is very efficient. Making a pill-less head will need a pre-forged starter piece or a solid block with 80% material machined away.

However brass pills to me seem to be a waste of money for everybody.

Yeah. Google Translate suggests that the Chinese language doesn’t make a clear distinction between

copper

Tóng

and copper alloys (brasses, various)
黄铜
huáng tóng

One hanady thing about pills — being able to make up several of them with various emitters and drivers, and swap them in and out of a single host.
That works if they’ll sell you extra pills.

you should warn your customers that this LED has the anode as well on the thermal pad
now as its mounted on a DTP star this is very unlucky for flashlights

if the star is not mounted electrically insulated to the lights body, you get a direct short whitch is not healthy

Hi friend

Another new DTP Copper MCPCB for XHP70 (6V) / 7070 LEDs is arrived.

Thank you

Why they are more expensive? Footprint doesnt influence on board self-cost.

Thanks for confirm this (i asked it above but wasnt sure if thats the case)
best solution will be to reflow the led to non DTP mpcb

I ordered Kapton tape to insulate the star

How does that compares against Sekisui #5760?

Cheers ^:)

Hi friend

Thank you for your interesting.

I recommend you to use ‘blf’ coupon code to get 5% off.

If you buy more than 3 pieces, you get get an extra volume discount.

You can gain more discount and cheaper price.

Since 7070 PCB is not the same as 5050 and 3535 PCB, we won’t make too many for stock and the unit price must be higher than others.

Thank you

Ban

Any factual reviews? Been looking at this light.

Looking forward to your test djozz.

Mine arrived today I put it in a Thorfire C8s with a MTN-20DDm driver it pulls 8,41A on max.

Need a better test?

Sounds wonderful, any idea of lumens?

Mine arrived today too, but as usual no time-window for testing in sight, perhaps monday :frowning:

This hobby requires being retired with kids moved out, so I will start the hobby in 2035.

Banl,
Do you know when Cree XP-L2 HD V6 1C on copper DTP available?

I would like to ask for a improved system for displaying amount of items left in stock.

This is the third time i have ordered stuff and when i get the order home i have a note in the package saying one item is gonna be shipped at a later date.

Two items i am still waiting for, one of them i ordered in march and the annoying thing is that it still says it is ready to ship in 1-3 days one the item page.

Would be realy nice if you could get some sort of counter with remaining stock or atleast update it to say if items are out of stock.

I still realy like your shop i just think it could be better

Interesting about the SST-40. If it pulls 8.4A direct drive and responds well to dedoming it could be an XPL-beater. Looking forward to testing, and I might buy a couple myself.

No reviews that I’ve seen, but given KD’s recent history of higher performing C8’s the specs of this new model should result in an impressive flashlight. It may not achieve the max lumens stated but it should be around 2000+

I don’t have any way of measuring of output, but a guestimate would be around 1800 OTF lumens.

If I find the time I will try to post some beam shots later and perhaps get some LED amp. numbers

EDIT :

I get 8,09A @ the LED on max with a 20 avg wire loop and a clamp meter.

Sorry no beam shots, when I reassembled the flashlight I nicked the positive wire creating a dead short :

The driver still works but I need to make a new tail switch.

I start to love KD as they seems to know a thing or two about flashlights and introducing interesting lights at the same time! I think it would be even better if KD uses XHP-70 in these KF8, K5 and C8.2 and drive them a little bit harder. Imagine pocket rocket!

believe me, the XHP50.2 is bright enough for a pocket rocket
I do love KD, too.
It’s not the cheapest, not the fastest store, but they don’t sell as much junk as all the others and know what they are talking about.
Also, they sell a lot more DIY stuff than others do.
I mean - where else do you get a driver for XHP50 that uses only one cell?
