has anyone here made their own pocket clips?

I have a couple lights (romisen rc-a4 and ultrafire 502b)
that the pocket clips are just junk. I wouldn’t think they’d be too hard to make. I’d love to see one made for my SF l2i as well.

Finding some decent steel is probably the hardest part (formable but still springy).

I was tinkering on one for my Cold Steel Voyager knife but all I had was some scrap aluminum. They wanted something rediculous for a replacement which really ticked me off.

A saw blade may work.

I find it funny that I see cheap 5 dollar knives with good quality clips on them but 20 dollar flashlights that don’t.

I've made a few using 316 series SS welding rod, and they've turned out to be my favorite clips. Strong and springy, and not too terribly difficult to work with. You can pick up a filler rod at most hardware stores.

Here's a post where I made one for the tank E07.

My favorite is the nitecore d11/ex11 titanium clip. They're about $7 and I've seen them retrofitted to a lot of different lights...all awesome!

copper plate.

It supposed to be too soft but in real life it is just perfect. The more you bend and correct the position the harde the copper gets. Its easy to work with and if you polish it it could add some *bling* to the light.

I will see if I can borrow a camera later today....

Thanks guys. Those are some awesome suggestions!
