Low-cost copper pills, spacers, optics, drop-ins (Updated 23/10/2022))

Some time ago Ive decided that M2 can fit 24mm Carclo while M1 should fit 25.4mm Khatod.

Received my package yesterday, very well packaged and it arrived pretty quick considering the distance it had to travel, 2.5 weeks to Macedonia.

I have a noobish question about modding with the c8 tripple spacer though…
I will be using the Noctigon XP32, so to get my wires through do i just drill the middle of the mcpcb?

If so , is there any chance of screwing things, and what precautions i should take?

Yes, you need to mark and drill 3.5-4.0mm central hole both in pcb and host.
As with other mods with central wire holes, I recommend to put driver, solder wires but not screw down driver retaining ring before you assemble top of your build. You should put down optics, ring, screw down bezel, and only after that screw driver ring with force. This allows spacer and other parts rotate in host while screwing bezel, and wires wont be broken because they will transfer this screwing movement down to the driver which will also rotate.

Great , thanks for the advice.
Off to do some drilling

Need some advice about S2+ retaining rings.
How big should be ring internal diameter to fit most 2-side drivers?

Some 7135×8 drivers need up to 15.5-16mm internal diameter of the retaining ring .

Also, I should say that traveling distance doesnt matter. Average shipping time to the US is two weeks while Germany or Spain can easily take 4 weeks or more. Since post services are using air transport, delivery time mostly depends from quantity and quality of sorting centers that parcel should pass trough.

I see , all clear on the shipping, will have that in mind.

Assembled the C8, and i must say its a looker. The pattern of the ledil optics combined with the gitd oring(nice touch btw) makes it look pretty cool in my eyes.
Got around 8A on triple G2’s with only tailspring bypass.Wont brake any records, but i consider it good enough

Looks even better in person

I’m just waiting on some parts from Richard at MTN and I will be building up a bunch of new multi-emitter lights.

:+1:

I’ll take the M2 quad. PM me with total.
Thanks!

Need one more advice from members.
Maglite *D, mod to led (xm/xp) with stock plastic reflector cutted that could fit 16mm board inside. Any information about pcb surface position for optimum focusing?

Excellent packaging once again. Seems that the Ledil triple has legs that fit right into the XP32 these days, no need to trim the legs shorter anymore.

Built a X7 triple with a MTN20DDm and 219C CRI80s and it’s glorious pure white goodness.

Any ideas?
If mod mentioned above looks not so cool nowadays, Im open for your suggests.

I actually have an old incan 3D mag. Currently has a simple drop in LED, maybe 200 lumens tops. Been thinking about upgrading it. I might look for a replacement reflector to sacrifice. I had also been thinking about possibly going with a multi-emitter TIR setup instead of single LED with stock reflector. Something like this.

They also sell these on that website, which I think uses stock reflector.

Im not sure that heatsink for stock reflector is needed. Single-die leds wont make wow-effect while multi-dies require OP reflector which is rare and expensive. 50mm tir optics can be also used, but it needs some extra development work to be sure that such mod can be assembled easily.
For multi-led version, I would prefer to use 50mm optics instead of 35mm cute-3.

Several various kits still in stock, PM if interested.

I still love my VG10 quad. A very nicely balanced light.

Very big update in first post, big clearence. Also hope it will look more usefull from mobile devices.

Just wondering, are there any M1 spacers left?

And is it for the new M1 without the pill? Sorry, I have no idea how the spacer is supposed to be mounted… :stuck_out_tongue:
