Noticed this yesterday and was a little bit confused (know it from mtnelectronics for a higher price). After this I find the BLF "driver" thread with the posts of Toykeeper and others.
Now I have to wait, because it is out of stock, but this is ok, because copperbased LEDs are ordered, too (mtnelectronics is also out of stock).
Im loving my Thorfire C8 that I won a while back. This thread makes me want to mod it. Maybe Ill just get another host to mod. Which C8 hosts have the best heat sinking abilities? or are they all the same? If they are all the same Ill just get an Ultrafire C8 for about 9 bucks on amazon just to mod.
But…
Do I really need anything brighter living in the city? lol
It's all good and bad - good because of China pricing for parts/assembly/distribution, bad because of China quality (and availability apparently). For me, it's about even in cost of parts but I like my quality of build better. Anyway, this driver is obsolete the day it went up on their site - Tiny25 and Tiny85 based drivers is the way to go for TK's latest for Tiny25 power/tail switch lights (bistro), and my latest firmware for Tiny85 based drivers.

It’s hard to believe a stock light would do 2k lumens with no step down from a single 18650 - the kf8 kdiy is similar and was tested as being truthful. What’s the likely kcd on this?
Oh my!
Thanks for that tip, that looks like an interesting flashlight!
(and budget friendly)
Will it outthrow an xpl-hi with blf driver, or would the die be too large and be more a ‘flooder’?
The H1-A driver in question uses a PIC 12F683 microcontroller, so it should be programmable unless they locked it. We just need to reverse engineer the control scheme. I have been doing some testing on the new KD boost drivers, and they do live up to their claims.
Will be throwing one of these in a Convoy C8 I have modified soon.
Can’t comment on the KD C8 with the XHP50.2, but I finally finished my Convoy C8 with XHP50.2 today. Running an H2 3000K 80+ CRI with a KD H1-A driver using R020 resistor mod for about 3.5A to the emitter. Beam is wonderful! I’m not a big throw guy, and the XHP50.2 makes the C8 a more general purpose light than a thrower.
