Convoy S2+ Desert Tan Available Now!

Why isn’t the link in OP ? I can’t find link.

Thank you so much! You answered all my questions J-Dub! I know it must be hard to keep all on track but you are doing a great job on that and on letting us know how things advance! :+1:
I will order it from AliExpress store when the second batch arrives, but for any modification I’ll be wathcing this thread!

Once again, thank you! :+1:

Because it’s not yet for sale on the aliexpres convoy shop only on BG and FT.

That pair of pliers looks like it still might be dizzy from the time it spent in the lathe! Looks like a pair of needle (long) nose pliers that had the padding stripped of the handles, then mounted in a four jaw chuck to spin them down to the right size.

Not a difficult task for our talented machinists. The limiting factor is the size of the through hole of the chuck.

Can you make a special order for S2 tan WITH a lighted tailcap? Thanks for answers

I have tried it a few times but a lighted tail on a S2+ with metal switch cover is not very impressive, for me it is not worth the parasitic drain that comes with it when the light is off.

I totally agree with you, there’s no way to make a bright illuminated stainless switch on the S2+…
The space is simply too thin, what makes the rubber boot bright is their larger surface for light diffusion

Yeah. I tried it. By the time I got it bright enough (to compare with dim trits) the resistance was below 1K (on an H17F driver). It messed up the switch timing at that point.

The parasitic drain would be very high too. Neat but not that great.

In the thread I can’t remember, few days ago someone posted picture of slightly sanded metal switch letting through much more light. I’ll try finding it.

How much power does it drains when off? Is it really a significant drain?

To get something that can actually be seen it is easy 2mA, draining a 18650 in 2 months, smaller batteries much sooner.

I’ve got a tracking number. Is it time?

Happy Independence Day BLF!

Great color !!!

Eagerly waiting to be able to order (from banggood) !!!

Love the smooth reflector and AR glass!

Nice! Mine is on the way from Fastech. Also have the Clear one coming, I’m planning on gutting them and using them as hosts for a triple and maybe another with an emitter I don’t currently have in the fleet.

Could Simon or someone else specify the CRI fo the bins ?
According to the lastet CREE tables there seem to be several CRI options for the bins used:

I’m hoping that Simon will have the Biscotti-revised lights in soon. Sounds and looks like a winner to me. Any update?

I’ve only had one of the revised Biscotti lights so far and it wasn’t mine to keep unfortunately. It was a BD06 with Biscottti and AR coated glass and it fits perfectly in the new C8 sized Convoy holsters! Really a beautiful thing and Biscotti ran perfectly without a single glitch. With the corrected timing it is much easier to program. The new strobe in the latest revision of Biscotti is just SICK! It makes your brain scream for mercy! :student: It’s the only strobe I’ve ever witnessed that might actually truly have tactical use. It has some weird alternating speed that really messes with your head like a jackhammer to the brain. Just awesome. My wife HATED it! That little demo was pointed at the ceiling and she was immediately yelling at me to “Turn it off!” as she shielded her eyes and looked away. Now THAT is the kind of reaction I want from a strobe. :+1: I liked it so much that I actually left the strobe accessible for a while. That would normally be the first thing I get rid of but this is something new. Guess I went off on a tangent there…oops.

Anyway, Simon tells me all of the BD series lights are now running Biscotti drivers. If you’re ordering one I’d probably add a note saying you want be sure you get the new rev.2 Biscotti driver. I imagine there are still some around with the previous Biscotti driver and I don’t expect he’d just can them all. Now that I’m thinking about it again I need a BD06 of my own. I got that last one as a gift. I had to test it first of course and then I had a really hard time parting with it.

J-Dub, I know this may be a bit dumb for me to ask, but does the biscotti has low voltage protection? (Reverse polarity it has, I’ve tested!!)
I have one S2+ with the biscotti and another with and “old” 3/5 modes driver. On the last one when a battery is near the 2.9 V it starts to blink, but the S2+ with the biscotti doesn’t do that.
Normally when on High (100%) it steps down further and further but it doesn’t blink! Is this the biscotti’s LVP?

Sorry if this may sound dumb :person_facepalming:

BTW, even not being a strobe fan, it’s good to know the revised version will have a good and useful one :+1:
Great work!
Thanks!
