Of course that makes sense, and we certainly don’t want disastrous rushed products on the market. But the reason for hoping/expecting is simply Hank’s own words:
If it needs to be delayed, then so be it. I definitely prefer “make things right first time” approach. But as a flashaholic it is also my duty to ask and nag a little bit too.
Edit:
Yeah I was a bit surprised to read about the new bezel and double o-ring waterproofing test, as I expected the project to have well passed that stage for an end of the month release…
If I understand correctly, it’s mod-friendly and the driver can probably be reflashed instead of having to be replaced. Of course, we won’t know for sure until someone opens one up to see what’s inside, but I think it’s supposed to be very similar to what the Q8 uses (only smaller).
This could make the D4 somewhat of a holy grail of flashlights — a light with the general size, style, and quality of a ZL SC63 or Olight S2, but dramatically brighter, cheaper, and mod-friendly. If Hank plays this right, I think the two upcoming lights could be extremely popular.
Imagine a bunch of 16 year old girls front row to Justin Bieber concert freaking out…
Nothing compared to me when I see these lights for sale at Intl-outdoor.com, and ordering them.
Just noticed in the picture that the two flashlights have the battery tube reversed. I guess the threading on both sides of the tube is the same and this is the way to reverse the clip? (you can’t hide nothing from me )
