Convoy S2+ Desert Tan Available Now!

To get something that can actually be seen it is easy 2mA, draining a 18650 in 2 months, smaller batteries much sooner.

I’ve got a tracking number. Is it time?

Happy Independence Day BLF!

Great color !!!

Eagerly waiting to be able to order (from banggood) !!!

Love the smooth reflector and AR glass!

Nice! Mine is on the way from Fastech. Also have the Clear one coming, I’m planning on gutting them and using them as hosts for a triple and maybe another with an emitter I don’t currently have in the fleet.

Could Simon or someone else specify the CRI fo the bins ?
According to the lastet CREE tables there seem to be several CRI options for the bins used:

I’m hoping that Simon will have the Biscotti-revised lights in soon. Sounds and looks like a winner to me. Any update?

I’ve only had one of the revised Biscotti lights so far and it wasn’t mine to keep unfortunately. It was a BD06 with Biscottti and AR coated glass and it fits perfectly in the new C8 sized Convoy holsters! Really a beautiful thing and Biscotti ran perfectly without a single glitch. With the corrected timing it is much easier to program. The new strobe in the latest revision of Biscotti is just SICK! It makes your brain scream for mercy! :student: It’s the only strobe I’ve ever witnessed that might actually truly have tactical use. It has some weird alternating speed that really messes with your head like a jackhammer to the brain. Just awesome. My wife HATED it! That little demo was pointed at the ceiling and she was immediately yelling at me to “Turn it off!” as she shielded her eyes and looked away. Now THAT is the kind of reaction I want from a strobe. :+1: I liked it so much that I actually left the strobe accessible for a while. That would normally be the first thing I get rid of but this is something new. Guess I went off on a tangent there…oops.

Anyway, Simon tells me all of the BD series lights are now running Biscotti drivers. If you’re ordering one I’d probably add a note saying you want be sure you get the new rev.2 Biscotti driver. I imagine there are still some around with the previous Biscotti driver and I don’t expect he’d just can them all. Now that I’m thinking about it again I need a BD06 of my own. I got that last one as a gift. I had to test it first of course and then I had a really hard time parting with it.

J-Dub, I know this may be a bit dumb for me to ask, but does the biscotti has low voltage protection? (Reverse polarity it has, I’ve tested!!)
I have one S2+ with the biscotti and another with and “old” 3/5 modes driver. On the last one when a battery is near the 2.9 V it starts to blink, but the S2+ with the biscotti doesn’t do that.
Normally when on High (100%) it steps down further and further but it doesn’t blink! Is this the biscotti’s LVP?

Sorry if this may sound dumb :person_facepalming:

BTW, even not being a strobe fan, it’s good to know the revised version will have a good and useful one :+1:
Great work!
Thanks!

That’s not dumb at all. Besides, if asking dumb questions was any cause for concern to BLF members I wouldn’t have lasted a day! We’re a friendly community overall.

Yes, it does have low voltage protection. It works differently than the old driver and I’d have to look through some messages to describe how it works but it definitely has LVP. I believe it will do exactly as you said, continuing to step down right to moon and eventually it will cut off completely. We don’t need no stinkin blinkin.

As far as the new strobe mode goes that’s all ToyKeeper’s work and all credit should be aimed at our resident minor deity. My credit area is limited to saying “Yeah, that sounds good” when she proposed the change.

Funny coincidence that it’s in the Desert Tan thread that I spun out talking about the BD06. That’s one of the lights I absolutely want to see in Desert Tan. It would have to have the regular shiny stainless switch as it’s a charging switch so needs to conduct electricity but that doesn’t deter me at all. I think it would look awesome and I want it!

Eheh, I guess these are the reasons why BLF is getting new members everyday!
Fast and efficient replies like yours, interestings topics and lovely flashlights emerging among the community, liberty to ask dumb questions that may not be so dumb at all like mine  Thank you for the answer J-Dub!!

I imagined that would be the LVP, but some days ago when using a Keeppower IMR 18350 it stepped down - not till the complete shut-off - and it was on 2.7V. So this was the reason why I asked, I gotta take care of the batteries!
If this is it, it’s smoother than the other driver :+1:

I ordered 2 drivers to make 2 mods in other lights (my first mods :person_facepalming: ), and that was a concern, but I guess I won’t have to worry about it!

The credits of the work, it’s for you, ToyKeeper, Simon and all the people I don’t know but that are investing time on this, creating or recreating the S2+ (or others, where there may be space for your tan BD06  ), giving it a new design, colour, UI… whatever makes us happy and comfortable with a flashlight!
For all of you, thanks!

And…I’ll be waiting for it on AliExpress Convoy Store :sunglasses:

I wonder if someone could replace the inner metal button with a clear or white hard plastic one. That way the whole button would light up making it much more compatible with lighted switches. Also, because it would be hard plastic, it would still be much more resistant to being torn than a soft rubber button.

Sounds like a project for someone with a 3D printer… (Not me)
:sunglasses:

I just printed some 18650 holders to store my 30Q’s while waiting for the Q8, it’s a semi-translucent glow-in-the-dark filament. I wonder if this would work for a tailcap?

De-assisted Zero Tolerance ZT0566FDEBW,Convoy S2+ Desert Tan and a Condor Arsenal Convoy Tube light 6 pack Coyote pouch.
Light arrived yesterday.

where did u buy it?

Sorry I left that out but it came from Banggood.

Cool picture chooma, everythings looks like it is bought as a set

I think it would work nicely. You’d only need to print the center plunger part that’s now metal and the glow should shine pretty well I’d think. I’d certainly like to see the results. It’s something I thought of suggesting to Simon but it would be nice to actually see it first. Wish I had a 3D printer. If you try it please share your results. :+1:
