The final version is making progress. The have had a working power module for about 1.5 years, but the issue was that the PWM response curve was not linear. I've got the RC filter values all figured now so you can use our normal ~19 kilohertz PWM signal on the input of the op-amp and get a linear response biasing the feedback voltage, therefore linearly changing the output, but still without any PWM ripple on the output (true constant current dimming). Worked on the PCB a bit again yesterday and am hoping to finish it up soon. Just need to make a few more component libraries and finish up component selection. Again, no ETA, but I am committed now and will release the drivers as soon as they are ready.
Prototyping always makes a mess! I finally have some decent tools though...early on I was just doing everything by trial and error. With enough time and determination you can make that work, but this speeds up the process significantly. Equations give you a good starting point, but as in chemistry or anything else most of the simple equations deal with ideal components / reagents --- things that simply do not exist in the real world.
The flashlights have arrived! We are going through and testing them all now and will begin shipping them later tonight and throughout tomorrow, so if you pre-ordered be looking for a notification soon!
The deep carry clip actually fits very securely on the light. It is going to rub the tailcap a bit when you take it and off unless you pull the clip away as you tighten and loosen the tailcap.
Does the D4 also have presets for low mid and high or is it ramping only? Ramping might be nice but I think it ’ll be difficult to estimate runtime while actually using it.
That’s outstanding news. Since I prefer 1x18650 lights I’ve had to wait for something like the H1-A UI to experience an MT-G2. I love the MT-G2 but the thought of settling for the H1-A UI is disheartening. So this news makes me happy :). FWIW I’ll probably still take a shot at programming the H1-A; but I’ll be near the front of the line for your driver.
BTW here is a Convoy M2 with an MT-G2 and an H1-A . Fitting a 20mm driver into the M2 was a bit of a mess (at least the way I did it…). I claim that with a little care and a Dremel a 20mm driver can fit cleanly inside a Eagle Eye X6/A6/F30; but I have yet to prove that claim.
I actually am not sure. I haven't used the light a lot. Tom E. should be able to fill in all of the details on the firmware...I wasn't provided with a full list of the functions.
Yes, I have some on order in white in every tint that should be arriving here any day now. I also am going to get more black, but they were not available yet when I placed my last order.
