Not sure if this is correct thread but .. CNQuality Goods

Just happened to do a fly by CNQ and surprise to me Ric is back up and running, so just to make sure I logged in and it seems all is good again, finally…
I thought I’d better say something since I know a few folks here were wondering about some past orders and his site been down for a long time now.
http://www.cnqualitygoods.com/

Is it Ric still running the show? I had to do a PayPal refund on an order placed around xmas with him as there was no response from several emails etc to contact anyone about my order.

I really don’t know if it’s Ric, I am logged in right now and everything looks the same but I am wondering the same thing, maybe Ric sold out, it’s hard to say.
I am debating to message first then order or try for these drivers and message at the same time, I think I’m going to message first and see what happens.
Dang I really need those drivers and been checking this site once a week or more for months or so it seems.
I’m just going to send a message, I’m not up to losing $20 some and then mess with PP and having known better, if I hear something I let you know for sure ASAP…!!
Do you still have issues with them or did PP resolve it for you…? Not that it’s my business but I did remember your saying something a couple months back I think now that I see you name and the mention.
Anyhow, I will send message now and let you know…

Sounds like a great idea messaging them first. PayPal had no response so refunded my order.

Alright message sent, now wait and see

Hmmm, I can’t connect to the website:

Yes I see, I to just tried the link I posted here and another one I saved and it is back to the way it was with that SQL stuff and that’s why I grabbed the pic above to prove I was actually on the site.
I’ve sent a message from the email contact I got while on the site asking what is going on so I guess it’s wait and see.
Darn glad now that while it was up that I didn’t really believe it and place an order or I’d be very upset right about now.
I’ve sent CNQ messages before and I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a reply and that was when the site was up daily, and I have ordered stuff and received it, so this is without a doubt one weird way to run a store.
Sorry I guess for even posting this and I had thought about whether or not I should even say anything worried that this would happen, here one minute gone the next, beats me… but it did really seem to be working well.
Well darn, I’m sorry…

Not your fault, all good.

Thanks but it’s sort of irritating or more like depressing, I really want to get these drivers he has so it was kind of exciting to see he was back up for what must have been about a half hour, but I also thought that people would think I was clowning around so I even posted a pic of a light anyone here would recognize as CNQ, well I think they should anyhow… ha ha ha Maybe not…, but wasn’t goofing around, he was up for a bit.
Oh well, depressing if anything I guess…

When I ordered the Jaxman Z1 a while back there was something funny with the site.
Direct entering to a product page worked but the main address gave issues.
Did enter CNQ yesterday when Google gave me some hits on Shadow

I found the site up a couple weeks ago and tried to order a light. The PayPal went through, but then the site messed up and said my payment didn’t go through. The site became inaccessible again later that day. I’ve tried contacting them with the emails that PayPal has on record, and still no response yet. I’ll wait a bit longer to see if I get anything from them and if not I will have to get PayPal to refund me.

The best priced Shadows are at CNQ no doubt, lots of great stuff at Ric’s site, just wish he could either just shut it down or keep it turned on, one or the other.
I did grab the contact email address off the site and sent a message but really doubt I’ll hear anything, I’ve tried to message him when it was running for months and I don’t ever recall getting a reply.
I’ve placed 3 orders with him and they all got here so feel sort of lucky, and those Z1’s I am fairly certain sold out finally about mid last year, that also was the best price you’d find for a Z1,
I asked the owner of Jaxman about those and he wouldn’t comment, I think they came from BG after the falling out with Jax and BG over the Cometa.
Just got my shipped notice from Alie today for the Shadow JM70 I ordered yesterday, that is some fast packing it up and getting it out, had good messaging with the vendor who is the OEM for Shadow and he stuck to his word that he’d get it shipped immediately, I guess, real fast… XPL HI rather than the XHP35 for me, hope to see a few hundred more meters out of the XPL, nice looking light but a bit on the expensive side, he also has some of the other older styles as well if your on the hunt The Miller.

Cnqg was always the iffiest site for ordering even when it worked, I’d get PayPal confirmation but nothing at all from Cnqg until the order arrived, no confirmation or order shipped notice, nothing. I always kept my orders small in consequence and never ordered any lights no matter how appealing.

Being a rookie compared to so many, those BTU lights were before my time but dang what awesome gear the Shocker seems.

From what I have learned Ric is a true flashoholic but communication is not his strongest feat.
Which is sad seeing what he got made and indeed I was very lucky to get a genuine Z1 for $37 shipped (it was the real last)

I think it is also impressive how much patience BLFers have.

This used to be the only place to get the original, DGQ, BTU, Shadow lights. This was way before FT, BG, GB, and several others. I still use some of Rick’s old P60 builds.

He was also a reliable source for genuine SkyRay Kings. I got two black ones from him (one of the last batches). He said those were the best quality Kings he had. He was also honest as he was selling clone Kings as well (also stating on the site they were clones), mentioning that the quality was less good. Yeah he’s a flashaholic alright.

Ah, good to hear !

I missed CNQuality Goods - they really had nice, unique products and good prices.
I ordered there some times … just checked: as early as 2011 ! Ric sent a wrong variant once, but I received a discount as compensation. :+1:

Yeah i wished he got back and run the business again.
