Hugsby XP 1 Where ?

I have found the Hugsby XP 1 an excellent small cheap light. I have never had one fail, and have given a bunch away.
I decided I wanted to give some away to some nice folks, and thought I could get some from eBay as in the past. To my dismay instead of approx $5 each they are $8. I found some that look the same called Lixada. I have never heard of those.

So has anyone here tried a Lixada? If so what is your assessment?

Thanks, Jerry

Hi Jerry!
After searching for a while I found some Hugsby XP1. I don’t know if the price suits you as they are about the $( you mentioned, but they are still out there.
I’ll leave the link where I found it :

I never had one, and I never experienced LIXADA as well. I guess that may be some “white brand” from AliExpress or Chinese producers…

Hope this helps

I bought some from Aliexpress for about 4.50 USD each but the seller is now gone. I bought in bulk 20+ of the XP1 and XP2 so i asked for a discount.

You can find them around that price still from other sellers.

Well, that’s nice  I just suggested this one as it seems to be original.
Some of these lights are very close to the original but then there are some small details that denounce that it is a fake or a copy (maybe like the Lixada the OP mentions).
It’s a pitty because the “Kaidomain” store in AE sells some Hugsby but not the XP1 :frowning:

g3 , besides trying to ask for discount, as everydaysurvivalgear did, always take a look at stores’ coupons, some are realy nice when buying in quantity or in big amount of money! I recently discovered that, so now I always take a look at it :money_mouth_face:
:+1:

Lots of Hugsby fake/clones around, have a look here

Thanks, Guys. I ordered some fakes off ebay and will see how they are.

This is as good, and I would prefer to the $8 Hugsby XP1.

fake xp1 had fake latticebright. they’re as bright as the real ones but not as good when it comes to build quality.

but at least you can disassemble it to swap LEDs

I do appreciate all comments. I know that we here are picky about such things as glass vs plastic lens, and colors of beams and their shape. That is fine, But the average person only cares that a light is dependable, and that it turns on when needed.
The small light can be easily carried in a purse or pocket.
Accordingly, if the fakes fulfill those requirements, I am OK with that. I’ll report on the ones I get, wheeeen I get them from China.

Yes they are indeed good. I gave a few of them to my colleagues and it worked fine so far.

Expected problem would be the pressfit driver will slowly come loose and flicker. It needed maintenance from time to time but overall still good enough

My colleagues always used them for rigging work and they always drop it so it’s expected that the driver will come off

I really like my 3 (fake/clone) XP1’s, even the tint is not bad (quite neutral, not blueish, but can’t guarantee you receive the same!)

Recently I ordered 3 XP2’s (from another seller), the build is the same but the tint is blueish. It’s a lottery

Hi,AgentSteel,

It is almost like food. When my wife and I find something we really like, they cease stocking it. :frowning:

All 3 of my Fake XP-1’s only turn on about half the time on the first click and sometimes not at all unless the battery is removed and reinstalled.
All 6 of my genuine XP-1’s turn on first click every time. I bought the fakes to give away as presents but I can’t now. I don’t want to have my name in a sentence of cuss words every time they need the light to turn on and it wont!

The build quality is not even close on the fakes. On another note I put an XP-2 head on a XP-1 tube with a 10440 battery. It is impressively bright but gets too hot to to hold the front half in about 30 seconds. Just not enough metal in the little things!

The genuine XP1’s have always been great for me. If the new ones are faulty I’ll just hope to get my money back, but I won’t gift them.
