haikelite SC02 MTG2 review>>Tear down ; beam shots ; Runtime

nice review.
too bad the bezel is not using stainless steel.

Nice review, thanks for the work!
Great simple design, nice DTP board, looking forward to get mine. So the turbo mode has NO stepdown?
Clearly not a light for muggels then…

upload runtime test with the highest brightness mode-2000lumens, turned out to last 93 minutes , powered by 5000mah 26650

thanks for the nice review.

xie-xie!

good review, thanx!

well, i definetely have to improve my review photos ) you show good example here.

am i right, this is something mid-range flashlight, like Acebeam EC50 gen2, olight R50 ?

for the price it looks not bad, but i suppose this one is definetely larger in length

You know the MT-G2 does not happen by accident. XHP70 puts out more lumens using less power. The way I see it, the MT-G2 is really a flashaholic’s emitter as the tint is really nice. There are still some MT-G2 lights available today, but they are all pretty much single emitter lights like the SC02, with the exception of the Acebeam X60M (quite expensive).

I think an MT03 with triple MT-G2 would be a truly unique light, as it will be the only triple MT-G2 soda can flood light. Especially in this amazing silver/white finish it would be truly awesome I think…
Anyone? What do you think?

I do like the MT03 and would love to have in MTG2 plus white/silver. YES!!

Agreed. Nice tint and clean beam profiles.

The Niwalker Nova MM15 is a 2xMT-G2 flashlight. Definitely not cheap either. I’ve managed to put an MT-G2 in a Convoy M2. I think I’ll just strap two of those together.

Finally got my SC-02. I think the manufacturer deserves a honest feedback: the eletronic switch used is VERY bad and I manage to turn on the light with a simple single click only 2 of 4 times successfully…sometimes it takes me 4 or 5 clicks until the light recognises I want to turn in on… unbelivable. The reflector shape wastes nearly 1 cm of space, it could give much more throw with a little different design. Standby drain is quite high (not measured myself, relying on other flashoholics that measured it). All in all this light is a FAIL in my book. Shame, could have been a nice single 26650 MT-G2 light.

Thanks for the feedback. I did hear about the switch firmware in a video of another Haikelite that you can’t press it too fast or too slow, but didn’t know it was this bad… Odd actually.

Edit:

The video is of a fellow member. Starting at 8 minutes and 20 seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvZjCJTHuB8&t=306s

my light is on the way, hearing the feedback makes me quite worry
i had the bad luck with utorch ut01 switch, and god, it’s so annoying when a switch not working properly

I received the light today
Luckily the switch works fine, at least to me, no complaint
The tint is very nice, so satisfied with it
Only one disappointing thing is the package is not good and the manual is so unprofessional(looklike someone was hurry printing it)

all of my haikelites came with photocopied/printed paper. they could do better but i am not complaining.

This light is sold at 65$(no coupon), at this price, a good manual paper is what i want to see

i am not saying there shouldn’t be a good manual they should but not a deal-breaker. i toss the manual anyway but that is just me. I am find with that. Haikelite even send some of the more expensive lights such as MT03 and MT07 in brown box at least their light is good quality and i wished that they could improved on their retail packaging dont get me wrong but again i am not complaining.

Yeah, we are fine with the manual, no one reads it anyway :stuck_out_tongue:

Just got SC01 in the mail. Well this is the manual i got not sure about the SC02 still shipping… It is a more dense and heavier paper not your typical 80 grams copy papers more like a card than paper.

Actually that does look nice. And the lanyard looks good too.

Yeah the lanyard is nice too, unlike in my MT07 they gave me shoe string :stuck_out_tongue:

What’s a good 26650 battery to run in this flashlight that can be purchased in the US? Are both flat top and button top supported?
