Hey folks

I didn’t see this section until now but thought I would take a minute to post. I’m a medical student in New York. My dad bought me some derpy bargain brand light for Christmas this past year and I sort of got hooked. Still have yet to get into modding lights, but I can still appreciate the fact that this hobby forced me to brush up on my physics.

The fact that people on this forum take the time to scientifically review flashlights and even shipping times makes me assume you’re all engineers.

Close. We’re all derpy, hehe.
Welcome, welcome, welcome. :+1:
… Do bored med students exist at all? I mean, aren’t you guys like super busy?…

I mean, usually. I’m in my third year so depending on the month I might be more or less busy than usual. I’m currently working on the Labor and Delivery unit at my hospital so I have reasonably long days (8-10 hrs) but am not on call on the weekends because I don’t deliver babies or manage patients by myself. Add in a couple hours of studying each day generally. In a few months I’ll be doing a surgery rotation which will be much longer.

But there are days where I have no patients and my preceptor is at his private (re: rich people) clinic and I sit around and look at flashlights.

Welcome to BLF FindThisHumerus! Funny how a “derpy” flashlight got you into this hobby. For me it was trying to find a better flashlight than what was available at my local home improvement store. Now I walk by their flashlights and laugh.

Thanks for signing up, FindThisHumerus!

Hi and welcome. Did you find it humorous or did you just find it?
