Banggood - Is it time to ban them from the forum?

Iā€™ve never had problems with Banggood but then again Iā€™ve never had any problems buying things from Chinese vendors. The only issues were occasional long shipping times but nothing that I was surprised at. And itā€™s not as if I buy things infrequently; over the past several years Iā€™ve probably made several orders per month from one offshore vendor or another.

Wondering if thereā€™s a way to ā€œappealā€ rude-votes, if only to declutter your ā€œrude-countā€. If a vendor does indeed vote your post as rude, and the only way to get it out of your ā€œrude-countā€ is to delete the post, then thatā€™s a form of censorship. You dare not criticise a product or vendor for fear of being ā€œrudedā€ all the time. Crappy product/vendor then wins.

exactly!
And I kinda understand that rude marking is anonymous but still, someone can just do it for the fun of it (or trying to work on your nerves just like a troll) and get away with it.
Maybe company vendors should not be able to mark posts as Rude, they are a company so itā€™s not like you single out a personā€¦

Nothing rude did you say in #57 at all. Somebody just got their panties in a wad and took it out on you.
.
.
Edit: ā€¦ In fact copied below is what you said in post #57. Nothing RUDE do I see.
.

That was towards me, and know for a fact I didnā€™t press the rude button. Got thicker skin than resorting to a button

Thatā€™s what I mean. I wasnā€™t irked, annoyed, nothing like that. Just said that I was no longer going to take part in the discussion. Let everyone cool offā€¦

I wasnā€™t a ā€œBG ratā€, in fact, I explicitly said I never ordered anything before (or since). Think my words were that ā€œI donā€™t have a dog in this fight either wayā€ or something to that effect.

But someone just came along yesterday or whenever (ie, just saw the bargraph today, and someone mentioned the ā€œ24hr ruleā€) and dinged me for that. Whaaa??

Someone must dislike NMM more than me lol

Exactly.

If you had, it wouldā€™ve been way back when, not yesterday.

Iā€™m not mentioning any names, but for years I was an active participant in a network where the operative ā€œthemeā€ was, ā€œIf it ainā€™t offensive, DONā€™T BOTHER!ā€.

The point of it was, itā€™s only 1s and 0s, and if you canā€™t take it, you gotta learn. If someone can get a rise out of you by just something they say, they have power over you. Youā€™re a puppet on a string, and they can pull those strings anytime they want.

Me, I never want anyone to have that kind of power over me. So goā€™head, insult me, mock me, question my parentage, whatever, it ainā€™t gonna bother me in the slightest.

But I always get amused at these politicians who hear some other politician quoted who ā€œinsultsā€ them, and they act so mortally wounded, demanding retractions and apologies, etc. Life canā€™t go on ā€™til theyā€™re made whole again.

Oh, brudduhā€¦

Anyhooā€¦ Not saying BLF shouldbe a free-for-all, and things like a ā€œrudenessā€ button can come in handy, but cā€™mon, some posts which get flagged as rude, well, arenā€™t. And there should be some mechanism to recognise this, and ā€œundoā€ it.

Yeah, most of the time like in your case itā€™s not rude at all, just oversensitive people clicking the button, like all the people who got heated when I said itā€™s 2017 and everyone should know how to operate a camera xD
Just ignore it

Good point Pulsarā€¦ā€¦.

Yeah Lightbringerā€¦ā€¦ I think those were some of your comments too. But stillā€¦ nothing Rude. I think a 24 hour rule might be good too.

I thought about making another comment or two about the type person that would mark a post Rude that was obviously not. Vendeta is a word that comes to mindā€¦ā€¦.

But since my green line covers the whole screen, pretty much from the same nonsense you have brought to our attention; Iā€™ll just let you use your imagination as to what my opinion of those type individuals might be.

Hm? You think what were some of my comments?

I just read here that the ā€œ24hr ruleā€ lights up the rudeness bar for only 24hrs after a post is flagged. So thatā€™s how I knew someone just dinged me today, vs weeks ago or however long ago.

I have no idea who mightā€™ve gotten pist off at me enough to have a ā€œvendettaā€ against me. Generally, I like everybodyā€¦ until someone gives me a real big reason not to. And petty disagreements donā€™t count.

Yeah, but, yā€™see, even a comment like this is ā€œfanning the flamesā€. It can be read as:

ā€œSome people are real jackasses, but Iā€™m not gonna say who.ā€

Then, the person(s) youā€™re implicitly pointing to will no doubt come back with his/their own veiled or not-so-veiled ā€œdigā€, and it starts allllllllll over again. :stuck_out_tongue:

A while back, there was a technical discussion (ie, not even opinions) about topic X. Someone wanted to do something (X). I pointed out that itā€™s hard to do, at the very least impractical. ā€œNope, nope, it can be done!ā€ Like a dog with a bone, he wouldnā€™t let it go. So, I just dropped it. Ainā€™t gonna convince anyone whose mind is already made up, so why bother? Heads bleed, walls donā€™t.

Elsewhere, someone quipped, ā€œNo one even has a definition what Y meansā€, so, trying to be helpful, I tried to supply him with one. I got jumped on hard and lumped in with ā€œall the others who donā€™t know what theyā€™re talking aboutā€. Ooookay. Iā€™m out. Preach to an empty hall, but I ainā€™t sticking around. Unsubbed from the thread.

Iā€™m just wondering why others just canā€™t ā€œleave it aloneā€ when itā€™s clear the other person ainā€™t gonna give up? Insistence on ā€œbeing rightā€? Needing to ā€œget the last wordā€?

Frankly, I got better things to do. To quote Nathan Ford, ā€œItā€™s like trying to explain baseball to a dog.ā€.

Your ā€œother commentsā€ was refering to what you said you thought you saidā€¦ā€¦ quoted below. Back laterā€¦ tied up fight now.

I now see 2 rudeness marks on my side bar after this morningā€¦ I guess heā€™s been loose-cannon on rude-button spree again today. in all the years i been here i know i have never been ā€œrudeā€ to any other member, as i respect everyone a lot here, and always friendly & helpful to everyone i can. its sad when we have a rogue member who joins BLF and seems to repetitively ruin topics like this with disruptive bad behavior. it only takes one person to make the who community begin to feel less comfortable to be in.

Reddit users coming over here. They think the rudeness button is a downvote. I think sb can see who the button clickerā€™s are.

Personally, I agree with what a few others have said. I think it would be a lot better if the Rude Button were not anonymous. That would most likely do away with the petty clicking of the button. Or at least if it did not, the offenders could be easily identified for group chastisement.

Never had a problem with BG (or GB, or FT or even Dino in the good old days). Sure, sometimes stuff hasnā€™t arrived, or has taken forever, but Iā€™ve always managed to resolve the issue without being out of pocket.

Whatā€™s a rude button got to do with all this? :smiling_imp:

Iā€™ve noticed that itā€™s easy (well for me at least) to inadvertently press the Rude button when looking at BLF on my phone. Perhaps thatā€™s whatā€™s happening in some cases? Luckily Iā€™ve always caught the mistake before I continued on but others might not do so.

I can add to this thread that BG solved again a problem with a wrong item which arrived to me,offering to me today a full refund.Of course,I will continue buying from them.

Thread closed due to the ongoing unpleasant arguments.
