Review : ThruNite Neutron 2C flashlight (xp-l v6 , usb charging , ramping)

Didn’t have time to update the review , tomorrow is the time

Very cool. Looking forward to it

Does the switch stay lit in all cases?
I prefer the battery indication to signal on activation then turn off, for all battery states; signal intermittently (say every 10 seconds) during use only when the battery is below 25; every 5 seconds when the battery is below 20; then not signal during use but step down the output when the battery is below 15% to prolong remaining runtime.

Great price but I still don’t want to risk getting a green NW.

Updated the thread : Usb charging / Battery indicator / Conclusion

I wasn’t happy with the UI video so i will give it another try .

.
.

Yes it stays on all the time , in every mode except firefly mode .

TC12 V2 nw had a great tint , this light is CW and tint is pure white , and maybe a little rosy on the edges .

Really happy with the light so far …

Mine arrived today. So far I’m really liking it. It runs fairly hot in the turbo mode, but not hot enough to be of any concern. I haven’t measured battery life yet on the Efest 900mAh 18350 I’m using, but it does seem to do pretty good. The tint is supposed to be cool white, to my eyes it’s closer to a neutral white

Do you think it’s a little rosy too ?

It’s probably a CW tint i could live with …

I wouldn’t say rosy, but then again I’ll have to look at it again tonight on a white wall. It’s definitely not cool white. That’s for sure.

I see no indication of electronic lockout… does it have it?

I believe not a single Thrunite has electronic lockout, which I pity.

…so we unscrew the “tail caps”

Sure it works. I just find electronic lockout… well sexy. Especially if you get like a feedback from the illuminated switch with a couple of blinks.

Not having the electronic lockout doesn’t bother me at all since I will not be carrying this in my pocket. Its purpose is a general around the house flashlight. It will get used often

Thank you.

I’ve been using mine for 12 days now and still very pleased with my purchase. Yesterday I received 2 Aspire 1100 mAh 18350’s in the mail. Tested them and they exceed their ratings, 1027 and 1080 mAh on the first discharge cycle. Installed one in the 2C. If I have time tonight I’ll do a rundown test till I get a solid red low battery indicator.

Thanks !

Still haven’t tested mine , i can’t find a new pair of 18350’s to purchase …

No problem. I’m testing it now. Hopefully, I’ll catch it when the indicator turns solid red.

P.S. There are no 18350 dealers that ship to Greece?

Results: 2C started on turbo. At some point, it stepped down to high. Not sure when it stepped down, but I left it that way. Battery used was a fully charged Aspire 1100 mAh 18350

22 minutes to blinking red
29 minutes to solid red

At that point I shut the 2C off. It’s now recharging via the USB port

Obviously, an 18350 doesn’t come close to a 3400 mAh 18650. For me it’s worth having a shorter version of this light even though the runtime is much less.

There was only one store , but batteries were out of stock

A few days now they are back in stock and i will order soon.

Btw , I wouldn’t recommend charging little 18350 cells at 1amp , with the usb charging system , i think maybe it will be too much .

I didn’t see any warnings in the manual. What current does it charge at?

Opps, I see. 1 Amp

That’s just my opinion , some people like to charge little cells at a high current , but it isn’t the best for the cell…

I hear you, my friend. I like to charge 18350’s at 500 mAh’s. Looks like I won’t be using the USB port for these cells from now on. Thanks for the info.
