[PART 1] Official BLF GT Group Buy thread. Group buy officially closed! Lights shipping.

DHL is fine for me as long as it is marked below $100 so it can be tax free.

DHL is good for me
Uruguayan residents can use a franchise, 3 packages of up to 200UD (including shipping fees) per year tax free via express courier
This year I still have 2 options available, of these, 1 was reserved for the GT

If there is no other option other than DHL, then it’s a no go for me as taxes will make it as if I’m buying a TN42.

Did my post get deleted? Huh that’s wierd…can I be put on the list for a light please. Thanks

because the NDM can’t send over 2kg.
the BLF GT with package will be about 2.5-3kg. so we have to send the mail like DHL.
we will declare low so for Europe members may need to pay customs.

we also think about divide into two part,
but it will increase the shipping fees, and will will add the risk of damage or missing part in shipping.

Regards,
Neal

agree to pay + two packages.
I assume extra expenses for two packages.
Very expensive DHL
Customs + commission DHL.

we will talk with this.
I am also hate customs.

Yes all can rest assure, the input on taxes is noted.
We will talk about what is best for all involved and report back when there is news

As The Miller said, some of the first 555 may back out. There’s an unfortunate chance I won’t have the funds when the time comes but I’m happy there’s a backup list for fellow enthusiasts.

I am one of the ones that will not escape the import tax no matter what for this size of package, but i am okay with that. What i am not okay with is that if shipped with DHL they will charge additional $30 for the work they do here locally, not fun.

MARK
and list updated (core list in OP)

Noted

we are debating it, when there is news it will be posted ASAP

Can you put me down for one, please!

I wonder…what’s the use for 1 Mcd throwers?
I got Utorch UT02 recently which does c.a. 120kcd.
Of five modes, I don’t need anything stronger than the second. Others are fun, but I see well enough anything that’s close enough to matter.
So….aside from having fun, why 1 Mcd?

Come on, it should be a hoot to flashy flash communicate with the people onboard the ISS

Funny things aside, looking far can be useful, for me it is for sure.

Then I discovered the tight beam of a thrower can be nice for other purposes, we had that party in a barn with ceiling at least 7 meters high.
There was no light, the TN42 on MED in a corner pointing at the roof gave a nice light without blinding and the Q8 with a simple cup as diffuser lighted the table.

Then there is giggles and the sheer fun of seeing a beam of light going far and beyond

Well, aside from having fun, most people probably don’t have a real use for it! But, there are some people on BLF that have said they live in areas that are big and open and have dangers that need to be seen as far away as possible. The further away the dangers can be seen, the more time the person has to act in their defense.

It’s not all about super long distance, higher candela also means that at a closer distance the spot will be brighter.
Or, that you can still have very far throw on a lower brightness mode with longer battery runtime.

Count me in for one !

This is also why I think an XHP70 version would be real nice, basically like a super sized L6 that should throw about twice as far.

XHP35 is a good compromise in the middle between throw and output.
People who want throw can mod it with an XP-G2, while people who want output can put an XHP70 or XHP70.2

All that’s needed is the LED on a 6v MCPCB Cree XHP70.2 P2 1A on DTP MCPCB
And the driver 46mm - SRK 32x 7135 Driver - V2
Easy mod tbh, no need to make a completely separate product just for a different LED.

You want the 12V XHP70 mcpcb. That way you can use the stock driver with a resistor mod and the whole process is super simple.

The stock driver is FAR FAR better then 7135’s.

The stock driver is good for around 5A @ 12V, which is plenty for an xhp70.

The xhp70 is most likely to remain a mod but a very simple mod.
