i would hope for 1400 meters, and 4000 whateverlumens the xhp70 kicks out
ive got a modded tn40, that does 1400 meters, and 8700 lumens, and is 1/3rd of the size, if i want a power flooder
oh the gt is def foe me, the thrower xhp 35
and your right, that tn 40 will light my cigarette after about 3 min on turbo, if that
im sure the gt if it had the 70 in it, would run full bore forever b4 getting warm
good point :+1:
My rough guestimate on the throw for this light is 1,100 to 1,300 kcd with a good stock XHP35 HI. djozz had a good estimate posted way back based on the TN42's performance and it's reflector size, again, assuming we got the optics and LED as good as the TN42's, and the driver producing the amps expected.
1,200 kcd is a rated distance of 2,191 meters, or 7,188 feet, or 1.36 miles. Formula for candela to distance (meters):
An actual distance for throw can be directly calculated from the candela value and will be given in meters. The FL-1 standard does just this by providing a light intensity reading in candela and converting this to throw in meters by calculated the distance at which the light will generate 0.25 lux. Throw is just the square root of the light intensity in candela divided by 0.25 lux which gives meters.
vn modded
tk61 ice cold for days
tn42, warm after 5 minutes or so, still useable after 10 solid minutes
tn40, warm in 1 minute, ouch thats hot, in 3 minutes, cigar lighter or personal heater in the winter in 4 minutes
