The bolded text doesent appy to me. Pretty weak in that respect. :P

When looking to series/movies I can name some of the flashlights being used and sometimes i criticize the choice and suggest a better option.

that's hilarious. same thing with guns.

which flashlight brands have you seen in US TV-series (or US movies)?

i would assume: Maglites in older filmographic material, and Surefire in newer ones. But no Eagletac or XXXFire's, am i right?

Maybe Fenix.

Fenix is even very popular on Amazon.

in Fringe they used tk-45's when they were in the other universe..they look so weird they could be from another universe lol

One thriller I can't remember the title of the detectives used jetbeam bc40's, in the movie 'the cave' they used some handheld HID's i saw earlier that day on dinodirect. But my knowledge of flashlights is still quite limited so a lot of the forum users here will probably be able to spot much more brands than me :).

saw a 3D maglite in "once upon a time". Sooo painfully underpowered, overfocused and too big. The light just appeared in the guy's hand and then disappeared, apparently he carried that big thing concealed. Can't imagine where

Laugh when someone brags how bright there $1 9 led HF flashlight is. They become dumbfounded when i bring out my 60 lumen keychain light.

Being a sci-fi fan i can never stop laughing at what poor flashlights up to year 2008 or so actors carried around. Even my wife said once: Oh dear look what a pathetic flashligh they carry... i never knew they were so weak years ago. At least helicopter mounted searchlights were always rather impressive.

Funny how a stupid flashlight in a rather decent movie makes you wonder if they had better chances with a random trusfire for 12usd freeshipped. :)

Your wife is totally absorbed in the plot of some movie, and you want to rewind and freeze the frame to see if you can I.D. what kind of flashlight that guy on top of the train is using...

Oh, and this one is baaaad...

Some guy with a bunch of tools hanging from his belt is ahead of you at a fast food restaurant...you notice what looks like an AA flashlight sticking out of his back pocket...trying to figure out what it is, it's not a Maglite...your wife says "did you just check out that guy's ass?"

lmao, I hope you just said, 'yeah, didn't you?'

I noticed that since I became a flashaholic that I don't play with my guns as much as I used to.

I noticed that i got a pretty heavy wish to do my own flashlights from scratch but lack a machining shop with all the machinery needed and the know how. Being generally not so clumsy i still fear these machines greatly. Since mistakes are easy to make there is lots of things that can go wrong. I hardly know anyone doing these jobs with all fingers (or worse intact). Also tought of machining reflectors and electroplating them. Then the stinky process of anodizing might top the cake. Way too much for a hobby.

I'll stick with modding, althrough i lack many tools i would wish to have. A press drill is one of those.

Aynway, it's hilarious that any light source i notice gets a lumen and color temperature estimate.

Agreed with almost everything  But I stilll prefer Asian girls

+1 for flashlights in movies/series :)

where can i get one of those?

I was at the courthouse, disputing a traffic ticket. After my turn was over, I left the room, and so did the cop who ticketed me because I was his last one. As we left, I noticed a Surefire G2 on his belt, and I asked him about it. He demo'd it on the wall, and then I pulled out my EDC at that time: a WF-500 with 5x XR-E drop-in. Blew his G2 away of course, although I don't think any cop would carry a WF-500 around.

You're playing Alan Wake and you can't help but notice his flashlight is too throwy and lacks regulation :).

+2 but on the next level:

saw my lady last week using my SC51w to spot places not yet wacuum cleaned and dusty, under our bed.

And yes, I´m usually the one who´s precise around here when doing cleaning of the house... Neither does she have her own flashlight nor is she interested A BIT about them :|

lol  same here, use my Xeno E03 with XM-L to clean "dark" places
