I donât see why not. But unfortunately, the driver is made specifically for the FW3A and wonât fit for other lights due to the second tube. I can add the link to oshpark when the driver version is final
Thanks for sharing Fritz!
I so DIG this pic:
Just dang beautiful!
Sweet
Gonna edit the title and OP later for the unveiling of a new BLF special driver PCB certainly deserves that!
Yeah, it wonât fit any lights that arenât made for it. But, if itâs available, somebody can make another light to fit it if they want to later. Also, if somebody had a driver fail for any reason (not covered under warranty :smiling_imp: ) they could build a new driver themselves.
Looks nice.
Add me to the list for 1 please
This should be fairly similar to the D4, except:
- Tail switch instead of side switch. (both momentary electronic switches)
- 3 emitters instead of 4.
- FET+7+1 driver instead of FET+1 (so, more efficient and higher regulated modes).
- Narsil UI instead of Ramping IOS UI.
- Different body style.
- Extra pin wired up for aftermarket light-sense hacks.
At a guess, probably ~140 lm on the â1â channel, ~1000 lm on the â7+1â channels, and ~3000 lm on the FET channel. With smooth ramping from moon all the way to maximum. Or discrete levels if you prefer.
Anything up to 1000 lumens should be reasonably well-regulated.
Iâm assuming I should (or someone should) probably put in some proper thermal regulation before the FW3A is released, but that probably wonât be too hard.
Putting in a blink at channel boundaries shouldnât be hard either, but it depends on if that feature is desired.
I would also love the default memory value for one channel. I donât know if this works with the double tube.
The double tube is to make the switch work, does not affect the UI in any other way then making sure it can work
Welcome to BLF!
Will update list later!
Thanks! I forgot to tell but I assume that you know :
I am John(Ion in native) and I am flashoholic.
Damn, I checked the size of my SK68.
FW3A and SK68 have the same size!
Max. outer diameter and length
Thatâs compact for a 18650
In for two pcs. Thank you
Thanks The Miller!
Could you add in the OP where the size is mentioned: âThis is as small as a SK68â ?
Many know how pocketable a SK68 is and an now the FW3A with the power of a 18650

Itâs really that small? I might have to get another for a back up then. Thatâs really small for a 18650.
Yeah great idea Joechina!
Will update list later!
@cabfrank
No it isnât. :smiling_imp:
my SK68: 93.6 Ă 26.0 mm
FW3A: 94.8 Ă 25.5 mm
But I hope you get the idea :sunglasses:
Plenty of light and the runtime of a 18650 AND Narsil
I do. Really close, and for a triple, with 18650, pretty amazing. Thanks for the reference to help visualize it.
thanks
rizky_p:anyone know how many lumens this flashlight will pump out, or how hard it is going to be driven?
