TK15: Amazon.com

Here we go
Both came packed in nice cardboard boxes suitable for a trip or two across the ocean

no lanyards but that’s ok I think they are supposed to be there according to paperwork.
they appear to be of good quality smooth threads and no sharp edges.
the reflectors are blemish free, I did not disassemble the lights but tailcaps have different threads.
the leds are xpl for vg10s and xpl2 for the tk15
both draw around 3a on the highest settings so should be good for around the 1100
advertised lumens,(I don’t have a intergrating sphere for accurate measurements)
The tk15 has a side mounted electronic switch the vg10s tail cap clicky
Another nice touch is moonlight mode on both lights 0.5 for the tk15 and 1lumen for the vg10s.
they both also have hidden strobes double click to access ,very nice Mr. Thorfire
So the vg10 s has moonlight low,med high, and the tk15 has turbo as well.

a bit of a lineup with c8 , x6 and s2+

I particularly like the incorporation of some attempt of cooling on the sausage light

it gets fairly warm still, not a problem this time of year in Australia.

the tint supplied was a nice warm4-5000k

vg10 on left.

tk15 with s2 6500tint

x6 and vg10s x6 has xpg3 6000 tint

vg10s and c8 in 5000 tint

another thing Thorfire got right is protected Panasonic’s fit straight in

instructions

vg10s…hay bales 40metres and shed 65metres

tk15 looks dismal in this shot but is almost as good as the vg10

to round up my preference would be the vg10 very similar to a m1
but those of you that like the sausage type lights
I would buy the tk15 over the s2 type
if I get time next week I will try to dismantle the lights

That VG10S looks like it has XP-L2 LED to me. Are you sure it’s XP-L?

only going by the paperwork in the box

I imagine these things change and perhaps documents not updated

Thanks for the review ltp.

Thanks for the giveaway

Not in but nice gesture ltp.

Thanks for the giveaway.

Is that VG10s water proof? Check the head for o-rings

On the Amazon US page, the VG10S is listed as an XP-L2. I believe it may be the XP-L2 V6 3D being used by the Q8. It has similar characteristics and color temp as other lights which use it.

Thanks for the giveaway, please consider this as my entry.

Thanks for giveaway.

Not in (got one  ), but mine didn’t, sadly. Just an O-ring around the bezel where the threads are, but nothing against the glass, so it’s just bare glass-on-metal. I kinda get the bad feeling that if I did a dunk-test, I’d be taking a hairdryer to it to dry out its innards. Worse, because I don’t even have a hairdryer. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well. I’ll e in the giveaway since my bday is the 22nd. Feeling my first win.

Mine has the same on paper in the box, but LED is XP-L2.
Can’t see on the picture good enough to be sure but yours looks the same.
If LED is all yellow when you look at it it’s XP-L2, can you check?

btw, I would be in for TK15

Nice gesture from you to review and giveaway ! The tint is a little on the greenish side or is just my eyes ? Or , maybe , the camera...?

Thanks for the giveaway. Love to have a VG10S. Lightbringer writes in his review that one is even better than the VG10. Already have a VG10, currently under (re)construction.
But that one has to wait a bit, because the missus has caused sort of a new priority. Only after returning from shopping she noticed that she had forgotten to move the waste-bin out of the trajectory of the closing garage door. It did not smell like teen spirit.
