and you must post in this thread
the winner will get a choice of either light reviewed here
the actual lights they are working and will not have a battery
On the Amazon US page, the VG10S is listed as an XP-L2. I believe it may be the XP-L2 V6 3D being used by the Q8. It has similar characteristics and color temp as other lights which use it.
Not in (got one ), but mine didn’t, sadly. Just an O-ring around the bezel where the threads are, but nothing against the glass, so it’s just bare glass-on-metal. I kinda get the bad feeling that if I did a dunk-test, I’d be taking a hairdryer to it to dry out its innards. Worse, because I don’t even have a hairdryer.
Mine has the same on paper in the box, but LED is XP-L2.
Can’t see on the picture good enough to be sure but yours looks the same.
If LED is all yellow when you look at it it’s XP-L2, can you check?
Thanks for the giveaway. Love to have a VG10S. Lightbringer writes in his review that one is even better than the VG10. Already have a VG10, currently under (re)construction.
But that one has to wait a bit, because the missus has caused sort of a new priority. Only after returning from shopping she noticed that she had forgotten to move the waste-bin out of the trajectory of the closing garage door. It did not smell like teen spirit.
It’s marginally brighter, yeah, but I gotta be honest, I like the plain ol’ VG10 better. As for my beloved VG10, it: has a FC switch (vs RC), is way less ringy, has a lots-nicer beam (CT/tint), has much better mode-spacing (ie, perfect), and… drumroll please… NO BLINKIES.
I don’t know what happened, but to me, my own personal opinion/preference, the ’10S went quite a few steps backward.
The VG10S is a nice light in its own right, but the VG10 broke the mold. There ain’t any improving on that. (Well, the thermal issue, okay… A nice solid spacer fixes that.)
