Question re: Sony VTC6 cells

New to the scene here, so lots to learn. I just received an order and among them, 2 of these cells for use in some of my flashlights. They are marked

“Danger do not use outside of battery pack” Why and do I need to be concerned?

Also, just for the record the marking looks WAY more like UTC6 than VTC6. Any chance of a mistake? These were bought from a highly regarded vendor on this site and others.

Previous thread:

Its fine. Sony doesn’t want to be sued by people doing dumb things and hurting themselves. They intend their cells to be used in packs with proper protection and charging.

V and U always look similar with that sort of printing.

Well, some peace of mind and a few laughs

Cheers and thank you!

Flat top are not really meant to be used in the flashlight… my lights are nothing but 18650 unprotected.

Not really sure that I understand your comment? This seems to be a highly regarded and often recommended cell…so is everyone modding a button top on them?

Are your “lights” all 18650 & unprotected or did you mean to say your cells are?
