Compact 1xAA Zoomies

Is yours On/Off or High/Low/Strobe?

Hum, the twist zoom is not so fun, but no problem with that, though.
Does it have 1 or 3 modes?
Thanks for your input in this

Sounds good to me! Thanks Firelight2!

Hey, I received confirmation from the seller (my previous message). It only has On/Off and only takes AA battery, not 14500
I guess I’ll order one, just to try them! Maybe the host is nice, or maybe I’ll stick with the stock light

Hope this helps!

Thanks!

I'm confused.

Which seller is that?

Aliexpress?

Chinese products are of low quality

There are plenty of high quality products made in China.

You just have to do the research to find the diamonds in the rough.

Does anyone have experience with this Sipik clone? I never had a zoomie and wonder if it’s worth $2.29…

Yup, the one from the store I mentioned on post 14 (Compact 1xAA Zoomies - #14 by MascaratumB)!
Sorry, I made it confusing :person_facepalming:

Don't worry, it's not your fault.

By the way, I asked the China eBay seller what the 3 advertised modes were, and have yet to receive a reply.

Couldn’t agree more with you, raccoon city!
I guess we must be aware that lots of the flashlight companies we mention on this forum are Chinese: Nitecore, Olight, Fenix, Convoy, Jetbeam, Lumintop, Klarus, Thrunite, Sunwayman, Acebeam, Manker, Thorfire, Sofirn, EagleyEye… (i guess the list of well known is here, but others could be added for sure).

We then have lots of not (so) good flashlights, most of them commonly designed as “cheappo” lights, because they are unexpensive and most of the times they’re not made with good/reliable quality materials. Or even because they don’t meet what could be considered here as “good specifications” for people that likes lights and knows “some things” about flashlights.

This said, hanoilighting208, even understanding your statement, I guess we must be relative and specify what we mean
And I guess that even the “cheappo” lights deserve an opportunity, they sometimes are a really good surprise :money_mouth_face:

Eheh, but I also mentioned “previous” and shouldn’t as the post was a bit up-up in the thread!
Well, I also found the same light with 3 modes, specifying High-Low-Strobe. So it is probable that the one you mention really has them… Gotta wait

I guess this may be a “general” host and them the fabricants give them different drivers. This “SecurityIng” seems to have cool flashlights, “good” hosts and nice drivers!
Thankfully, I guess!! We sometimes need a “simple” flashlight, ready to go

Indeed. Not only are there some very good quality Chinese flashlight brands, but there are some rather poor American flashlight brands (cough, cough, mag, cough).

I’m agnostic to where a product is made. As long as it has good value, that’s what I want. My recent purchases have mostly been some Convoy lights, because they seem to be of decent quality for a low price. There is better quality out there, and I sometimes pay $100 for a light, but it has to have features I can’t get at a lower price.

And then there are $500 brands that I just can’t justify purchasing, because the value isn’t there (IMO). They’re excellent quality, no doubt, but a super-high price drops the value to a point where it isn’t for me.

So, I ordered the flashlight from eb_homelifestyle on eBay on Monday.

The auction said it was coming from China/Hong Kong/Taiwan, but it actually shipped from Maryland.

And it should be delivered today!

Let us know what the real lumens are. If it’s like most of those kinds of lights on a AA battery, it will be around 60 lumens.

1000 lumens? They may as well claim 10,000.

Well, in the email that I received that says that the item shipped, it stated that the flashlight has an output of 100 lumens.

I don't have the equipment to measure lumens, but I can compare it to other AA zoomies that I have handy.

Okay, that’s a much more realistic output for that light. Maybe someone made a typo in the description, and added a “0”.

Well, you know flashlight sellers...

Many of them lie big time.

Now I was never expecting anything close to 1000 lumens, so I'll be happy with just a decent build quality.

Alright, I have the SecurityIng flashlight in my hands.

The flashlight that I own that is most similar is the Meco, so I'll compare the two.

The SecurirtyIng flashlight is a little wider and longer, it has a much better build quality, and it's easier to change the battery.

The Meco has a clip and is a push-pull zoomie.

The SecurityIng has a lanyard and is a twisty zoomie.

In flood mode, the SecurityIng is much wider, and each flashlight is about equal in brightness.

In throw mode, the Meco is much tighter.

The SecurityIng has a neutral tint and the Meco has a cool white tint.

Overall, the SecurityIng is better in most ways, but not in throw mode.

I wonder if my niece's cat will chase the SecurityIng's light in throw mode...

That's the real test of a zoomie flashlight.

EDIT: Both of the flashlights are one-mode, which is what I wanted.
