GB = group buy (as a forum we buy a lot in exchange for you lowering the price for us)
Coupon = a code you’d supply BLF with to buy it a bit cheaper than anyone else buying the charger
there is one little downside with 4x3A and its a 12V 60W external power supply hope its not too big, so the SC is a little more mobile with the internal power supply
while the Miboxer is capable of lower minimum charge current
the Nitecore charger can charge NiMh with 2A the other Miboxer chargers only 1A
the Nitecore charger cant charge 4 26650 at the same time
Both seem to be good chargers, you have to look which fits your needs best
Not sure if Sally from Miboxer also wants a german review on TLF again
I only see a single button for slot selection. Is the same button used to select charging current rate, or is there another button that I am not seeing in the photos?
I believe this has been fixed on all of them. I have the newer C4 that has the discharge capability, and it works great. The only downside is the super noisy fan during discharge. MiBoxer needs to put a function in that discharges cells to 3.6v and stops, to use as a battery storage function.
I would be very interested in reading HKJ’s review of this charger. I just bought four Nitecore SC4s (although I already have quite a number of XTAR chargers, ranging from the tiny MC1 Plus, to their flagship Dragon), and have been very pleased with their performance and feature set, for the price. They were purchased through a BLF Group Buy. There is no way I’d have purchased them at full retail. They’ve been the nicest Nitecore chargers I’ve owned, thus far; and at the price I paid, I have no complaints about them.
I’m finding the feature set and the ability to charge four 26650s at 3Amps simultaneously, appealing; but the current price on Amazon puts these at nearly twice the cost of the SC4 units I just bought; so it would have to be available through a Group Buy, or something.
Also, I’m not sure if this is a fan-cooled unit. If it is, that would be a hard pass, for me. I just don’t like fan-cooled devices, at all - especially if I would have a bank of four of them right next to each other. The fan noise would drive me crazy.
The SC4s do have a slight whine; but to me, the sound is negligible, even with the four units right next to each other. Of course, opinions vary.
I will look forward to reading more about this new unit, as time passes.
