@the miller
Uh, that’s a nice knurling

maybe for the next light with a big tube?

Question….feel free to tell me to post elsewhere.

I got some Sanyo 3500 GA’s…button top…in preparation for this light.
My question….
I did a FAST TEST on my Lii500 just because and the internal resistances ranged from 38 to 96.
Should this concern me for performance? In looking at the battery comparator, the GA’s tested there were listed at 35 I think.

Thanks for any input.

The IR tests in most chargers is inconsistent and not comparable between different models due to different methods of calculating the IR.

That said the cells should be reading fairly close if tested in the same way, on the same charger, at the same starting voltage.

36 to 96 is an extreme range. I would retest and if it is the same results then you might have fake cells. Where did you get them?

please add me to the list

any ideas when this will actually start shipping ?

Or perhaps a problem with the button top connection. So it could still be legitimate if the capacity at low current turns out ok.

hi can i buy one of these blf q8 flashlights?

I missed they were button tops, if so that could be an issue. Part of why I prefer solder blobbing.

I’m in for one unit

Yes, you can get added to the list.

Not much comm. from Thorfire on details, but definitely, actually being assembled in quantity now. They told us 2 weeks, but assuming no issues, delays, etc...

How many lights in the batch?

I’ve put off getting in on one of these group buys for so long, but this light will be the one to drag me into the fold. Put me down for one please

Thought 1st batch is 500, not totally sure though.

Yes it is my understanding 500
Will update list, thanks for the kind words and trust!

Would love to know any information about the timing 'between' batches; both my spots are in batch 3 if they're done in lots of 500.

Sorry so late to reply… I had the copper buttons from buying Old-Lumens modding stock. I think he bought an assortment from someplace on ebay. I don’t know for sure where he got them.

1/4” brass bar stock works great to make these, even by cutting off a short piece and sticking it in a drill then useing a cut off wheel on a dremel or even a hacksaw to cut off buttons of whatever depth (thickness) you require.

I hesitated to say “where” because I don’t want any rumors spreading from my inexperienced info. I will say the place I got them from has been vouched for by several members here and is U.S. based. I got them because they were on a bit of a sale at $5 each (down from a usual $6.50 each) and decided on them because of what appeared to be the minimal benefit gained with the button top 30Q’s (and of course longer runtimes with the GA’s).

To your point of “inconsistent” tests….I’ve read that several times here and hesitated to post because of it….and to DRIVE THAT POINT HOME……upon putting the batteries back on the charger to FAST TEST again (after they had rested for several hours) and NONE of them read over 42mr. In fact, the one that DID read 96mr earlier, is now reading 17mr. SO….in consistent? I’d say.

The good news is (to me at least), they did all read in the low to mid 3400mah range….so at least that part seems true.

I would imagine they squeeze in production of the Q8 in between production of their regular product line. Might be difficult to predict wait time between batches.

Can I be put on the list? Thanks.

From a few posts earlier.
