Using AA's with a "C" adapter

I have a dedicated traffic wand “(from Amazon)”:Amazon.com . I’m switching over to all rechargeables and bought some “c” size adapters to be able to power this with 2 AA’s instead of 2 C’s. Any reason to think I won’t get 4 hours of run time out of a pair of Eneloops?

How many hours do you get on alkaline C batteries? Figure you will get about half of that or less on AA.

Just goggling quickly, alkaleak Cs are up to 6000mAH while eneloop AAs are only 2000mAH. So figure about 1:20.

Maybe go with a couple NiMH C's and a charger...

So far I’ve gotten 12 or 13 hours from a set of duracell C’s. I was figuring roughly 1/2 the runtime based on some past google search (but had a harder time, finding direct info, this time). I only use this 4 or 5 times a year…usually for a 4 hour shift. Plenty of Eneloops on hand, I think I’ll put that $20 toward my Q8 purchase.

That sounds like a better idea!

“alkaleak”

alkalines are 1,5v eneloops 1,2v. so instead of 3v your light is only getting 2,4. depends on voltage requirements, it may work or it may not work nearly as long as math suggests
