That’s a Casio 5028, easily my oldest surviving wristwatch to date. I honestly can’t remember how old it is, but I’m sure it’s a 2010 model at the latest. Sturdy as heck, faithful and comfortable like a dream when properly adjusted… Although the wristband can get smelly with time :confounded:
super bargain on chinese version of “super engineer II” watch band

i have no affiliation other than that i have had one since march and i like it!
the ‘real’ ones are like $110, this is like $25
for some reason you have to pay in brit pounds but that is easy with credit card
(seller is in hong kong i think is why)
I have one of those on the way to me for my brushed Amphibian. I hope it won’t disappoint me.
What’s about the overall fit and finish of your one? As I know the sides are polished. Was it easy to resize?
it does look the same, even the ‘stainless steel ’ stamp is the same font
right now they seem to be at // Price:GBP 20.38 // Approximately US $26.20
they make any watch look good…though that citizen is pretty to start with…
yours has picked up dirt and scratches, just like mine, and it still looks good…
i would be leery of a black one though, would probably show scratches too much
My edc for 25 years.
Been down to 140’. Down on most every sport diving wreck off south Florida. Almost pulled off my wrist by a huge jack I speared in my rookie days of spear fishing. Getting a little old looking but keeps on ticking.
Last year its main spring broke so had an estimate from Rolex for $1500 for a repair and 5 year cleaning it has never gotten. Brought it to the Seybold jewelry Building in Miami, found an old Russian guy that had worked for Rolex with Rolex certificates on his wall. He did a cleaning and mainspring for $250 while I waited and watched. There are a lot of little tiny parts in that watch, I was surprised he got it all back together again, I never could of done it, even if my life depended on it. He even checked the calibration and said it was within 1 second. To me it seems to lose a minute a month…
Yes the black will no doubt scrape off, no matter how much care , swirls, scratches happen in abundance. There is another from HK which is excellent value, a real chunk! 6mm thick, stainless and i was that impressed i bought 2(around £20 iirc and again on ebay, UK watch shop for around £80. It does add some heft!
Can see how chunky compared to the other engineer II
