it;s decent but these do not claim to be LSD batteries
which you need for cameras at least
low self discharge
AKA ‘pre charged’
ok wait, sorry,they are
but keep in mind that may not last long
i got some cheap LSD AAs . FLEPOW brand. after a year they still work but they discharge in about a week to where they do not run the camera they used to run
they used to hold charge at least a month
now you have to keep them in the charger all the time on ‘trickle’ - no better than the 5 year old ones i replaced with them now
I thought the black ones are supposed to be the higher capacity ones… equivalent of Eneloop Pro? Or is it the grey ones? Amazon has been changing wrapper colors quite a bit over the years… can’t keep up.
Do you have an analyzing charger to measure their capacity?
They are Minimum 750mAh as shown in the OP link on Amazon.
Entire label is black with white lettering, Green ring at top. No other coloring.
Same as the last 2 pruchases I have. Never got the White ones.
Dont be offended… Just not been a good day.
Yes I do have a charger to check the capacity but I really do not see the need to. It’s an Eneloop for $1.25ea… get some. Still $10 for an 8 pack.
The black label is just Bezos’s marketing department.
“Ooh, people know black Eneloops have higher capacity, let’s paint our regular ones black …”
Note the main page says “Packaging may vary”
Is the country of origin labeled on the package for the black-with-green Amazon cells?
PS — even trickier — when you hover the cursor over the various different size packages, all the popup illustrations show the black-with-green cells, not the white ones pictured on the main page.
Hmmmm …. “for more information search for B00CWNMXQW” says the fine print in the packaging image.
That brings up two items: Amazon Basics and the YCDC brand NiMH cells.
Received my order yesterday. Cells were black topped and black wrapper with green band near the positive end. Says made in Japan and HR3. Has date stamp of 201704. Discharged tested 4 cells at 300mA right out of the wrapper (Used a Li-500 which first charges the cells). Capacity measurements ranged from 766 to 794 mAh.
Not sure I follow the above. Can I be confident that these are truly LSD cells?
EDIT: Read. Seems I can trust that these are indeed LSD cells. Thanks again for the alert RC. :)
yes, that post was worded in such a bizarre manner, but I think he’s saying that usually Japanese produced items are more expensive than average, so if the cost is cheap it’s “not like made in Japan”
