Okay, just trying sort out in which order to buy these upcoming special lights.
BLF GT is on a top of my list but still trying get the other ones too.
I just hope that not all have such tight timelines when to buy or at least not too many surface in a same month too close together.

The rush on the down payments is due to lumintop wanting to put them into production ASAP and they want to get an idea of how many to have made.

I have been AWOL a couple of days & have question.

Is a down payment due now or will there be a notification PM or email?

Waiting for mass/group PM notifications. I’m sure they’ll also update the OP.

Edit:

I’m so excited for this light, Have been antsy and nearly caved in on getting a thrower. That TN42 deal a month or so ago was so enticing, nearly pulled the trigger.

One question: Will the issues of the prototypes be appropriately addressed? I specifically mean a lower resistance of the carriers and a better finish of the reflector.

I know and I`m totally OK with it.That is why I suggested that they would make this 2-way payments parts thing in my earlier post.
Just would like to prepared and informed some weeks before the bigger payment is due.

We all know it is coming, can you just tell yourself now…four weeks for instance. Then put it aside & when it really hits your ready.

+2 Will LuminTop send a second prototype for inspection/review with all the fixes to the issues that have been identified?

Ready to pay those $14 as soon as the PM/mail shows up.

For those talking about taxes in Europe… grow up. We pay taxes to have decent countries. Sure, I’d like things to be free too, but this is real life. Building roads, having a decent education, healtcare and retirement means paying taxes. Don’t like it? Go live in a forest.

Yeah I know but being on a budget means that if it would come this month I would not have enough money to buy it yet and if it takes months I just cannot afford to let this much money to lay on my Paypal or bank account.
And if I cannot buy with the lowest price then it becomes progressively harder to buy it when the price increases and my money does not.
Timing matters a lot when you are on a budget.Monthly it is possible to buy allocated items but you have to know which month they are coming.

Adsum, I wish I had better news for you but there are many folks involved in this. I have made sure that I have funds in the Paypal acc’t for these various BLF lights for the past year+. It’s just basic money management regarding buying and not buying; spending/not spending. One chooses what to spend money on.

Indicating an interest to purchase does not mean that it’s a commitment to purchase. You have signed nothing.

Basically, if it takes food out of mouths its a bad purchase. People and family needs come first.

BrianK,yes that is what was trying to say it is a question about basic money management and for that to happen one needs info.

As said earlier I really can pay the first part now but the very tight 5-day due payment rule for the bigger payment came as a surprise,I mean there understandably has been a long wait for this light so I thought that when it finally is ready there would have been more than 5 days timeline to buy and pay for it.

I have been trying to get this kind of thrower for some time so I`m seriously wanting to buy this.I was thinking about getting TN42 but it was fairly pricey and this has a much better value.

I have allocated certain amount of monthly money for certain items I need, such as this one.And missing this due to timelines would mean that I would have to pay much more in the future to get this or similar one and that is not very good money management in my books.

Not all people have big amounts of extra cash to be kept in bank or Paypal account even if they would like to.
I would do it if I had the way to do it to buy this kind of things that I use and need practically every night.

I mean were are on The Budget Light Forum!?

It seems Lumintop needs to be able to make the GTs before production capacity is taken by other lights.
Now is LT a quality brand and they want it as good as we want it
Yes the issues are debated in depth.
The cell carriers are reworked with better springs and contacts to lower resistance, reflectors were prototypes for LT as well.
Samples for the team are coming at a moment but not to slow the path to production they will not be a round of prototypes/samples as with the Q8 but real production runs. All issues are fixed and the fixing is showed with pictures and aCADs

If people need time to add money to their PayPal, I’d say do it soon. We don’t know exactly when it is needed but there is fast progress.

Yes the first $14 this month.
With 13 days to come this month it would be very fast for the rest, possibly too fast but really we don’t know.

OP updated with:

Quote:
So to be clear:

Soon people on the list will get a PM for the down payment of $14, done via PayPal directly to Neal
When making the payment add a note with the following information:
BLF name
Address (including province/state and phone number)
Spot on the list

We will keep a list who made the payment.

Argh this is not the GT thread, but given your strong sentiment I’ll treat this as if you had posted it there Wink

I actually couldn’t find that thread. Sorry.

If someone wants flat(er) regulation, maybe they could… use a lower mode?

You don’t HAVE to use the highest output all the time. You can have the best of both worlds, a nice FET wow mode, and regulated lower modes.

The people designing this light know what they are doing.

When reducing the output to 2 amps the regulation is much better than with 2.5 amps.

Theoretically, with the new improved battery carriers it should be improved even more.

And, the firmware that we use (forgot the name..) has many modes and options, so everyone can make it as they want it.

1. I’d like to see a review of final production version of the light before making any payments.
2. Not sure if customs officer will be happy with the $14 payment to Neal if the product comes from Lumintop.

Please put me down for a second GT.
I wrote this several times the last weeks, but nothing happens.
Please “The Miller” put my second wish on the list. I`m number 76 on the list.

Thx
