New ReyLight LAN available soon

I also wonder how the buy will work, I have no Facebook, so I am out of it?

The Manker T01 will do over 400 lumens on a AA, without any step-down (using one of the special modes that prevents the step-down). Granted, it does get hot, but it seems to handle it okay.

The Zebralight SC5 will do over 500 lumens, albeit with a 3-minute step-down.

I’m not sure what that power would translate to in a Nichia 219C, but it’s probably somewhere around 300 lumens. I’m happy with a step-down to prevent overheating.

But, yeah, that’s kind of leading-edge for 1xAA lights.

Anyway, I’m not really concerned, since I don’t use my Pineapple as a bright light. It’s used as a bedside light, and it does a good job in that function. I suppose I could use a 14500 to get the higher outputs, but I have other lights for that.

Good question, but I presume the answer is yes, because it doesn’t sound like this version has changed the driver. The Pineapple has PWM on all modes. It would benefit from using higher frequency PWM, if it can’t go constant-current.

It is only a few manufacturers who manage to make good boost drivers for AA cells, and of them Manker is the most affordable. The new Manker E03H AA-headlamp manages to get 240 lumen from a 90+ CRI 4000K 219C (350lm for a cool white XP-L). I doubt that it runs on a 14500 btw, the specs do not mention it.

I agree, different lights fill different niches. The LAN does a very good job of offering both High Lumen or High Runtime options

I think it is a very good looking light, and has a lot going for it, including being dual compatible w both Primary and LiIon power. I especially like that the moonlight stays at the same low level on both types of power. The PWM helps maintain consistent High CRI Tint, all good things. I like the trit options too…

I also like the teardrop design elements in the head, a bit like the LunaSol

the head also reminds of Muyshondt Aeon. The TiLan also shares a body design element similar to the Flieger…

Imagine owning a titanium light, not for $600, not for $400, now you can have it for less than $100! Buy more than one

My last AA lights are Utorch UT01, Manker E11, Klarus Mi7, zebralight SC5 MK II, EagTac D25A, Olight S1A…. sorry, but I do not think that 200 or around 180 lumens are strange thing…and not for only 1 minute…. 110 lumens is fine for a flashlight AA NiMH of 3 or 4 years old…but not for 2017…… and for 100 lumens now we can see without problem 2 hours or better…
Ok, we can not hope the same data for nichia, but I think that will be great better perfomance.

(In any case I have bought one of the Rey Light brass, and I love it… )

When getting a lot of power from such a light, you should also consider the thermal properties of titanium which are a lot worse than those of aluminium.
At least a continuous power of ~2-3 Watts seems to be the limit, 3-4 Watts would be too much for such a design in titanium.

This is probably the best AA Titanium light out there!!

Yes is one possibility…or perhaps is this

You will have to try both to make sure ….

@Trevi

Could you please make a full review of TiLAN?

I am interested too. Do you have access to some trits and options to put some on as your previous lights?

I already contacted OP, but so far the buying process seems “grey” to me :frowning:

You can paypal to 395090663@qq.com

Just got the new LAN v2.0 in house here now.
I got the bead blasted version, nice and grey.
It is a little longer - 3,5mm than LAN v1.0 and 3,3g heavyer.
The LED, Nichia 291C 4000k, is a little more warmer than the LAN v1.0.

Mine is on its way, I expect it to be held by customs, but hey. 3-4 weeks at least.

Is the battery tube the same diameter as the Pineapple? One thing that bugs me about the Pineapple is that it can’t take my Keeppower 14500 cells. They’re too thick. The battery tube is just wide enough to accept Eneloops, or unprotected 14500’s.

Since I’m not sure if the light has proper low-voltage protection, I’m reluctant to use unprotected 14500 cells in it. So, I’m stuck running it on AA’s, which makes it under-powered by today’s standards.

My nitecore and olight, xtar 14500 , protected, could work well. It does not have low voltage protection.

Hi WalkIntoTheLight…
Just measured, I have old protected Ultrafire 14500 that is 52.2mm long x 14.43mm wide and it fits in - no problem.
The same battery may be squeezed into the Pineapple or the LAN v1.0, but it works fine on the v2.0, so this tube is
a “hair” wider than the two other. These are my numbers.
Hope it helps. Good luck.

On Amazon US now.
LAN 59$ after code: J6PSMOWA
Pineapple 39$ after code: IW3C96K8

Think I have fixed it, active at 2017-9-16 07:00 PDT

Rey, Is LAN v2 used the same driver in pineapple? Any plan for a batch run of copper pinapple or copper LAN?

Yes, same driver. Currently planning on triple.
