yes will do next time list gets updated

how can i get “giggle” laser engraved on the light, like the one above
it made me GIGGLE

I have accsess to a laser engraver locally but they are becoming more and more common. If you look around it is usually not that hard to get it done. Worst case you could send it off somewhere, since only the tube would need to be engraved it would not cost that much.

Only way we could get it done from the factory is if everyone was ok with it.

Personally I REALLY like how it looks, really adds life to the light if you ask me.

The miller, you can remove my name on spot 67. I only want one and that spot was from before I joined the team. (Forgot that I was holding a spot on the list)

So I guess I made someone happy.

Will the final kcd typical to all lights of this monster be posted before we are given the go signal pm thereby starting the 5-day buy window?

The reason l am asking is, for me, being already an owner of much smaller, lighter 1.034mcd aspheric thrower, l would hopefully expect this light to exceed it handily to justify the purchase of this light.

Perhaps at least 1.2mcd as earlier mentioned?

Thijsco, yes yo did! When my calculations are correct, that makes me #555 on the list!

We will not know the exact throw until the final versions are ready. It should be over 1mcd, how much is hard to say.

The neutral tints of the production versions will also reduce the paper number readings on a lux meter even though they throw further in the real world.

With the improved reflector the production version should have, it could reach 1.2mcd if you swapped in a CW emitter just for the sake of numbers on paper but a reduction in real world throw. A dedomed xhp35 should also give some improvement if someone wanted.

We simply can’t say for sure one way or the other as we have not seen it for ourselves.

What we can say is that with the CW emitter the prototype did 1.1mcd. The reflector should be better in the finished version so that should lead to some level of improvement.

Nice…l will be waiting for it.

Would be interested in what this mystery smaller, lighter aspheric thrower is. I know it's do-able, but probably not for this price. Also, probably it will not have a spot as big, or put out as much lumens.

Right now you can buy lights that throw further for sure, but cost and beam size tradeoffs.

The Deft X (Supbeam/Acebeam K40 as host, though much more expensive).

Ahhh - the Wrath of Ra right now seems like the best deal for a compact 1,000 Kcd aspheric, way cheaper than the Deft X was, and think'n smaller. But of course Michael has some stuff in the works, so should be exciting to see what he comes up with. He's also signed up here for a GT .

With or without a collar?

If you are talking about this one;

https://www.silentthunderordnance.com/shop/wrath-of-ra

That looks just like a modded uniquefire 1508 to me

Yep, sure is. It is using the UF-1508 as the host, he even states that clearly. If you can mod, or know someone who can mod a 1508 host for 1 Mcd, go right ahead - I sure can't. A Deft X was just a modded K40 also...

We discussed them a while back, here: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/42408/3023, post #3023

BLF user scianiac is one of the partners. I've had some pm discussions with him - all seems legit, though haven't seen any independent reviews.

Thanks for the info Tom, i must have missed that.
Since i am not experienced in candelas and the rating (last time was in high school, which was a long time ago) it seems i have something to refresh and/or learn

If i understand you correct it is not as simple as changing the led, mcpcb, driver, bypasses, all the usual finetuning and even then it will not give 1Mcd?

1Mcd is best case scenario, you can see in the options that is is on average between 800 and 900 kcd.
It’s head diameter is pretty similar to the K40 so yes it should not be too difficult to mod it with a collar and Black Flat LED to get those numbers.
It’s a much smaller light though, so it’s heat dissipation will be potato-like and I doubt it can sustain 1Mcd for more than a minute or two.

Uhh, I'll disagree a little, but still it's all speculation. His higher model, more $$$, is a minimum of 900 kcd and he's built ones that measure 1,000 kcd. He actually measures and documents each individual unit made, like what Michael at OSTS did, and his #'s are taken at 30 seconds, measured at 6 meters. He's probably replaced the lens to something better, and they can cost some decent $$$. Also he's probably using a 3-4V LED, much lower power and lower lumens, and using a buck driver, so his setup will do much better in continuous runtime than typical.

For example, if he has a dedomed XP-G2 in there bucked down and at 5 amps, it's a pretty nice light engine for low power, low heat, longer runtimes, compared to other LED options, and can get really high throw #'s with proper optics.

some guy on here got his tn 42 over a mill lux
that reflector is about half the size of this gt
just sayin…….

I’ve built over 400 lights, the TK62 gave me fits, I managed some 535Kcd and traded it to Richard. The most I’ve ever acheived in Kcd, in any light, is 665Kcd. That was in the Olight SR-90 Intimidator. 1 million candela is not easy at all. Not at all.

That was with an Oslon Black Flat.
Obviously if you put such LED in a GT you will get far more than 1Mcd.
