I know this is a repeat of an old thread from over a year ago (this revival is inspired by the Model 3 battery pack thread) but the first cars are on the road, we have 21700 batteries powering them and we have insights like these.
I like the technical concept (on all Tesla cars), but the design isn’t my cup of tea (yet). I have only owned/driven Coupe style 2 doors so far and I am looking forward to a Tesla sports coupe in the future.
I once heard that working for Tesla is like giving up your life to Elon Musk. Work or your life. It sounds like they only want people that devote 200% to their work.
Once the infrastructure of charging spots is built up I’d bet that they will increase sales in a very big way.
Prius has been around for 20 years and is very common. Back in the late ’90s there was some skepticism about how they would do but they got over the hump and other companies have followed suit with similar cars.
Once chargers get set up in most major cities I’d bet that a number of other companies will release their own cars. It’s not cheap striking out on your own, but I’m glad Musk is pushing the envelope.
To tell the truth I’m more excited about his home battery setups than a car. Cars depreciate so quickly and wear out. A home setup with efficient solar panels will be very attractive to many homeowners and might well make a house more valuable.
No Tesla for me. I’d want a plug-in hybrid, so I could recharge from the mains, or generate power from petrol if I had to. Bonus points if it has a solar panel on the roof
Yes, as soon as they bring out the one you can recharge for another 600 miles of range in 1 minute and 40 second version, likely called the tesla 3 petrol model
